NO EXCEL

We were flabbergasted by Minitab riding on the back of the Six Sigma Scam. Minitab milks users of an
outrageous $1780 per person, per annum.

MINITAB NONSENSE
Minitab may be useful to some statistics graduates but in the Quality arena it is antiquated, misleading,
outrageously expensive, and promotes utter nonsense: “assume a 1.5 sigma shift”. You should NEVER
“assume a 1.5 sigma shift”. The 1.5 sigma shift was invented by self-confessed con man Harry, a school
teacher. Harry based this trash on the height of a stack of discs.

MAXI-Q MINCES MINITAB MYTHS.

Maxi-Q explodes myths and nonsense:
1. You should never use p, np, c, u charts. These charts assume a data distribution. If the data does not
strictly adhere to these distributions, you will get incorrect results. By contrast, XmR charts do NOT

2. You should never normalize data nor check for normality. XmR works for any data distribution. Dr

3. You should never use detection rules other than points outside control limits. Using additional rules
