Clinical signs

Erythema & vesicle formation -


edema of the skin & s/c tissue (in severe case) -
in the next stage → scab formation or may be -
necrosis or gangrene
systemic reaction (if the affected area is -
extensive)
diffuse cellulites (spread of infection to s/c tissue) -
: Treatment
I/M or I/V injection of Avil → 1 amp/70 kg b.wt -1
)antihistaminic(
I/M injection of Predef 2x → 10 cm / I.M -2
or Finadyne → 2 cm /45 kg b.wt / cattle / I.M
cm / 45 kg b.wt/horse / I.M 1 →
or Dexamethasone → 5-12 cm / I.M / cattle & horse
local application of Zinc oxide oint. 15% as local emollient -3
)gm zinc oxid + Vaseline up to 100 gm 15(
local application of Salicylic acid oint. 6% as local keratolytic-4
Salicylic acid 6 gm + Benzoic acid 3 gm + Vaseline up to 100(

in early (weeping stage) → local application of antiseptic -5

in case of constipation → liquid paraffin -6

or local antifungal ointment as Canastin *
