Community Learning Space LC Facilitation Plan

Outcome: Through this walk we are focusing on getting the following outcomes by the end:
• Familiarity with the community
• Understanding the influence of different stakeholder/place on students and
understanding its importance.
Agenda:-

Opening + Instructions Introduction (4:30 - 5:00pm)


Walk (5:00 - 6:45 pm)
Break + Refreshment (6.45 - 7:00 pm)
Reflection (7:00 - 7:15 pm)
Learning Spaces (7: 15 - 7.50pm)
Closing (7:50 - 8.00pm)
Informal Space (8:00 - 8.30pm)
Requirements: Healthy balance of English/Hindi

Everyone meets at Holy Mother Community Centre at 4.30 Sharp

• Pre- Opening [10 minutes]

o 4.30- 4.40 p.m. Fellows start interacting with each other. Meanwhile divide
them into groups of 10-12 depending on the strength. Keep a good mix of
people in the group to increase the participation.
o 4.40- 4.45 p.m. Play a video made from the pictures of previous walk.
Inform- Ask Sayak for photos.

• Opening [15 minutes]


▪ 4.45 - 4.46 p.m.: Share the agenda with them (Poster)
▪ 4.46 – 4.56 p.m.: Stakeholders
This part is essential in order to get all the participant immersed in the
central idea of this walk.
▪ ASK – What are the 5 most influential people in your life? How did they
impact your life.
▪ Ask them to share their responses in groups of 4.. [2 minutes]\
▪ Then share large group. (2-3 responses)

• 4.56- 5.00 p.m.: Now we will be moving to the segment of the community walk.
▪ Most of us did the previous walk and took a lot of learnings back with us. I
would ask you all to keep those learning with you all while going into the
walk.
▪ Before we head out for the walk, here are the few instructions [5 minutes]
▪ Once taken to a place, speak to the guide for better understanding and
speak to the people to get their perspective.
▪ Here are few guiding questions that you may wish to use. (we will provide
them GO with guiding questions)
• What is the similarity and differences that I find between the two
pockets?
• How are these stakeholders affecting my students/people in the
community?
• What importance do they hold in a child’s life?
▪ Please document the walk by taking
• Pictures
• Videos
• Notes

o Make sure you carry your essentials during the walk.

▪ On reaching the places [105 mins]


▪ Guide:- Introduction to the place
▪ ASK:- guides a few questions
▪ Look around
▪ Think of the guiding questions

• 6.45- 7.00 p.m.: Break (back to Holy Mother CC) [15 minutes]
▪ We request individuals to hydrate themselves and use the washrooms in
this given time. There are snacks served and something to drink.
▪ We recommend both groups to not share their experiences till the closing so
that we don’t get influenced by others experiences.

• 7.00- 7.20 p.m.: Reflection (Everyone) [15 minutes]


o Please form a circle and kindly put your cellphones away.
▪ Lets be with our thoughts. The idea is that we process what we have been through
and in the meantime think of the guiding questions. (5 mins)
▪ Everyone has been provided with a sheet and a sketch pen. On one side of the paper
write down one word you would associate to this part of Malwani and on the other
side write down the most influential stakeholder in the community according to you.
▪ Please hold up your placards.
▪ Take a look and choose the people that you want to go and have a conversation
with.
▪ Please do not spend more than 3 mins with the three individuals chosen (3 people) –
09 minutes
▪ While interacting please think of this question:
▪ While having a conversation ask why to each question to understand
perspective
▪ Large group share of what some of the people discussed

• 7.15- 7.50 p.m. Learning Space:


▪ We are going to have a gallery walk.
▪ We have people from different organisations and fellows display/ share their
projects.
▪ This space is for you to explore what work different organisations in Malwani are
working on and to see what different projects fellows are working on.
▪ We request the representatives of the stall please take their place near the stalls.
• 7.50- 8.00p.m. In large group (10 minutes):-
▪ Having shared our experiences and learning from each other we are moving
to the last crucial part of this journey. While we sit down in a circle, let’s
discuss about:
▪ Keeping all of this in mind, What new did I learn from people who have been
in Malwani long enough. How will I operate now knowing the importance of
different stakeholders in the community.

REQUIREMENTS:
▪ For people attending
▪ Reach Holy Mother at 4.15 pm
▪ Proper, covered footwear
▪ Water bottles
▪ Caps
▪ From Facilitators:
▪ Charts
▪ Sketch pens
▪ Food and cold drinks
▪ Arrangement for a washroom
▪ GO/Agenda charts/closing questions.
