Blue-colored brackets are which I’ve identified

as to what kind of figures of speech they are in
each stanza if necessary or I did notice.

I could sound it like in rhyming effect because of their last

letters every line which are the same.

These lines portray as the persona is somehow calling and expressing strongly
towards the subject of the poem which thereupon I could call and identify as an
“Apostrophe” kind of figures of speech.

Is something that denotes to be called as personification type of figurative

language.

It manifests an attribution how the subject has enacted an act of heroism

so as to be called a personification type still again and how that thing really
helps us in our problem of having toothaches and against vampires.

It demands an expression of command which shows an apostrophe type

of figures of speech.

This is not so a familiar type for all of us in our identifying of some and
common figures of speech we indicate usually but it signifies an
interrogation type of figures of speech for me because the persona
questions not for the sake of getting an answer but to put a point out more
effectively.

THEME : “The value of having garlic in life for health and

protection”
 Summarize the poem by using 5 bullets of important ideas you find in the poem. Support it with evidences.
- An ode is a lyric poem usually marked by exaltation of feeling and style, varying length of line and complexity of stanza
forms. It is something made by us composers to show respect for the worth or influence of another. This piece makes us
know how garlic in its literal significance objectively a cure for the people from experiencing pain and in danger.

From the line - “You, who saved us from vampires and toothaches”.

- The strong smell and extract of the garlic which we might move to tears in facing it, gives us its support in real life
situation as how it’s an effective and good medicine that shows its effusive and stronger effect.

From the line - “Her sly manipulations move him to tears, make him want to peel back her layers and
save her from herself”.

- It seems that it is a small object but can defeat anybody like supernatural beings when smelling and counteracting with
it.
From the line - “You, who saved us from vampires and toothaches”.

- Garlic doesn’t need physical support or element on one another. It is already in force.

From the line - “With your pungent strength marking the strength of your personality”.

- It can combat body ailments and diseases.

From the line - “Wars, how many heroes survived thanks to your antiseptic intervention”?

 Identify basic elements and form of poetry (meter, rhyme, stanzas, title)). Comment on each of them.

- To make judgment about the poem, it’s very an unclear for me and I’ve experienced a bit of confusion because its
metrical structure is not that totally formal where when we see what is in usual or customary practice we are making.
Because we usually apply 4 lines and there we see in the poem is that each stanza has only two lines or sentences and
long enough to ascertain. We could also see that there is only one line of the stanza if I’m not mistaken or to make it
three in all. But this piece really gives importance and makes sense. It hasn’t have that rhyming form or technique to be
called as. All in all I could conclude that there are 7 stanzas in the poem.

 Was there an attempt to use images and symbols to elaborate the idea in the poem? How does the figurative language affect
the poem?

- Yes, as how the poet indicated the Nightingale of the World Wars to represent something and give manifestation what
it helped and contributed for to things. Figurative Language is applied and it affects the poem to further understand the
message and give us image what could we also describe that thing.

 What is the mood /tone of the poem?

- It’s a strikingly and straightforwardly domination of frankly expressions because the poet defends something what gives
and provides us from garlic without needing the presence of another.
