Topic Lesson 2.1 Growing in Christian Conscience

Time Allotment 3 hrs
Essential Questions 1. What is conscience?
2. How can we educate our conscience?
3. Why is it important for us to develop our moral virtues?
Enduring Understanding Well formed conscience can guide us to Holiness
Values Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, Temperance

I. Learning Objectives:
Within three (3) hours session, the Students should be able to:
1. understand how conscience operate;
2. where ones conscience is directed to;
3. what are the tools to polish conscience;
4. why conscience must be used properly.

II. Materials:
Laptop and speaker, pictures, coupon bond, pen and pencil, cartolina

III. Learning Experiences:

A. Introduction
 Have you read the tragic play titled Hamlet written by the great English dramatist,
William Shakespeare?
 What were the issues raised in the play?
 What is your reaction to Hamlet’s decisions?
 Have you experienced the urge to get back at someone?

B. Interaction
 Students will be grouped into five members.
 They will share their personal feelings, thoughts and experiences with regards to revenge.
 They will discuss among themselves why they pursue or did not pursue such plans.

C. Integration
 Presentation of the Beatitudes.
 Agreement to the beatitudes becomes the basis of one’s morality.
 Living these out will be guided by the conscience.

Reading the life of the Venerable Matt Talbot

Evaluation:

Make a list of several issues being reported in the NEWS then write your down what your
conscience tell you what to do about it.
