Single-word Form Adjectives
• consists of a single word to describe a noun or a pronoun
• most common type of adjective

Phrase Form Adjectives

• A grammatical unit that contains a subject and a
predicate, but not necessarily expresses a complete
thought .

• building blocks of sentences

Clause Form Adjectives
• Adjectives that are formed using relative clauses
• relative clauses are introduced by relative pronouns
(who, which, that, whose, whom).
• relative clauses provide additional information about
nouns and function as adjectives

Two Types of Relative Clauses
• Defining Relative Clauses
- provide necessary information in a sentence
- do not use commas
● Non-Defining Relative Clauses
- provide unnecessary information in a sentence
- uses commas

• His brother who works at Starbucks is a friend of mine.
