3. Mr. Andrew from EMEC; the Laboratory Specialist; presented the design INFO
main frame of the new laboratory and the major constrains that shall be
considered during the design process. (Attachment I)
4. Mr. Veno from QP Refinery Laboratory presented the current occupation INFO
of the laboratories, their requirements and expectations from EGEC.

5. QP requested to have an emergency isolation button to shutoff the power INFO
on each laboratory for crisis management.
6. EMEC confirmed that all Laboratory exhaust air shall not be circulated to INFO
non-lab spaces.
7. EMEC mentioned that the design shall be done based on air passage from INFO
cleanest to dirtiest.
8. QP requested the design with exposed ceiling. INFO

9. QP requested leak sensor for fume hoods and occupancy sensors. INFO

10. A discussion took place regarding the placement of the air handling units, QP
exhaust fans and chimneys on roof better than a separate service yard as
per advised by EMEC. QP will check and revert with its final decision.
11. QP requested to have redundant power Supply connected to all testing INFO
equipment and HVAC system that shall be connected to the Generator.
12. QP requested stand-by HVAC equipment in case of maintenance/failure to INFO
sustain the operating temperatures inside the laboratories.
13. Dedicated drainage system for the Laboratories shall take place. No INFO
nearby drainage connections exist. EGEC will consider.
14. Contaminated drainage shall be separated. Chemicals and hydrocarbons INFO
each should have its own drainage system.
15. EMEC recommends Water based suppression system, whilst QP requests INFO
CO2 extinguishing system. More meetings between QP technical HSE
engineer and EGEC’s Firefighting Engineer.
