current students to promote taking AP classes.
In an effort to recruit and retain students in AP
classes, I decided to include students in the
process. Students were encouraged to create a
poster, flyer, t-shirt, etc. that could be used as
marketing for specific AP classes. Students
enjoyed the opportunity to express themselves
and explain why they enjoyed the various
classes. New students were interested, but
some stated that the references to inside jokes
were confusing and made them hesitate to
join.
2 = Some projects were more extensive and
expensive than others. Printing costs for
posters and t-shirts could be prohibitive.
