FIELD TRIP REMINDERS

Congratulations! You are officially on the list of students attending the field trip on Friday, March 8, 2024.
Please make sure to have the front of this form completed and returned to Ms. Bone in T46 before Friday,
February 9. If you have an outstanding balance, please make sure to pay as soon as possible, and no later than
February 16. Our final payments are due a few weeks before we leave for the trip.

We will visit the Georgia Aquarium, Jimmy Carter Presidential Library, and see the Atlanta Opera perform
Midsummer Night’s Dream. The opera will be held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and will begin
promptly at 8:00 PM. We are anticipating being back at the school after midnight with students missing the
entire school day. We will ask students to call home with an estimated arrival after we leave the theater, and
again once we reach Macon. Parents should pick students up from the stadium parking lot.

o The bus is leaving at 8:00 AM. Students should report to the stadium parking lot no later than
7:55 AM. We have a tightly packed schedule featuring different locations with reserved times;
therefore, we cannot wait for late students. Refunds are not given if you do not attend or miss the
bus!

o Students are encouraged to “dress up” for the opera, but it is not required. However, students should not
wear ripped jeans/shorts or hoodies/t-shirts to the performance. Previous students have used the
restroom at the mall to change before the show.

o No cell phones or photography are allowed during the performance. Violating theater rules can result in
individuals being asked to leave the theater. Please DO NOT charge your phones in the theater.

o Lunch: Students will have the option to purchase lunch in the Georgia Aquarium or The Varsity. Packed
school lunches (sack lunches) will also be available before we enter the Jimmy Carter Presidential
Library. Students are not allowed to have outside food inside the Georgia Aquarium, Jimmy Carter
Presidential Library, or theater. Any food or beverages must be left on the bus. The most recent bus
driver did not allow students to have open beverages on the bus. Please make sure your beverages have
lids and that ALL trash is removed from the bus.

o Dinner: We will stop for dinner at the Cumberland Mall food court before the show; therefore, students
should bring money for dinner the night of the performance. There are a variety of options in the food
court to accommodate different budgets.

o All school rules apply throughout the trip. Students can face disciplinary consequences for violations.

o Please let Ms. Bone know ASAP if you’re unable to attend! We have a long wait list of students eager to
attend.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
