LETTER ENGAGEMENT

Dear Mr. John,

This is to confirm our engagement as your counsel in your criminal case with
the Municipal Trial Court (“MTC”) entitled “AAAA vs. BBBB” subject to the following
terms and conditions:

1. Acceptance Fee: The acceptance fee shall be in the amount of Thirty

Thousand Pesos (Php30,000.00) payable upon your conformity to this Engagement Letter.

2. Hourly Rates/Fees: The rate of Four Thousand Pesos (Php 4,000.00) per
hour, exclusive of VAT, shall be applied on time spent for services rendered, i.e. review,
drafting and preparation of pleadings, meetings with clients, and other parties connected to
the case, etc.

3. Miscellaneous Expenses - Out of pocket expenses, including, but

not limited to representations, transportation expenses, photocopy expenses, mailing and
notarial fees, if any, shall be advanced by to you and will be billed to your account.

4. Success Fee - For the successful handling of the case, the

undersigned shall receive an additional fee in the amount of [a] Two Million Five Hundred
Thousand Pesos (P2,500,000.00) if the case is terminated at the Municipal Trial Court level
and no appeal is taken therefrom; [b] Five Million Pesos (P5,000,000.00) if the case is
terminated at the Regional Trial Court level and no further appeal is taken therefrom; [c]
Twelve Million Pesos (P12,000,000.00) if the case is terminated at the Court of Appeals
level and no further appeal is taken therefrom; and [d] Twenty Million Pesos
(P20,000,000.00) if the case is terminated and finally decided by the Supreme Court.

If you are amenable to the foregoing terms and conditions, please signify your
conformity by affixing your signature below the word “CONFORME” and return one (1)
copy for our files. This shall serve as our retainer agreement for the handling of the above-
captioned case.
