121 AD-395 AD: HEIGHT OF ROME [GOLDEN AGE[


The Hadrian Wall is built to keep out barbarians. Constantine becomes emperor and declares
Rome Christian empire. Rome splits into two empires: Western and Byzantine.

45 BCE-80 AD: END OF REPUBLIC/START OF EMPIRE


Julius Caesar becomes dictator. This signals end of Republic. Caesar is assassinated in attempt to
bring back republic.

753 BCE -73 BCE: ROMAN REPUBLIC


Romulus and Remus build city where they were rescued. Rome becomes Republic. Hannibal
leads Army to Carthage for Punic Wars. Spartacus leads slaves to an uprising

410 AD- 1453 AD: FALL OF ROMAN EMPIRE


Rome is defeated by invaders, which marks the end of Western empire. The Byzantine Empire
comes to an end 1,000 years later. This begins the Middle Ages.
