During my study time at university in Vietnam, I realize that there are still shortcomings in

the education system including exam-driven teaching method, limited chance for practicing

and poor facilities. This prevents me from studying effectively. So, leaving Vietnam for

developed countries like the U.S gives me the chance to approach advanced education

system, the reality and international qualifications and achieve my occupational goal.

I have prepared everything: choosing a top-rated school, receiving I-20, acceptance letter, a

very clear study plan. I also achieved IELTS 5.5 as a language preparation to study the most

effectively in the U.S. My parents also have prepared enough finance to support my study-

abroad. So I’m perfectly confident to study in the U.S

Why don’t you stay/live in the dormitory? / Why do you want to live in homestay?

I prefer homestay to dormitory because homestay gives me the chance to experience the

local family culture and customs. It also helps me improve my English skills.

11. Why does your school transcript mention your mother is housewife?

normally, parents’ occupation information is automatically transfered by the head teacher

from primary school to middle school transcript and to high school transcript without

making any change although in reality my mother changed from housewife to doing
business 10 years ago. I believe that not only I but also most Vietnamese students have the

same situation. Furthermore, according to Vietnam’s traditional culture, man should be the

breadwinner and woman should be the housewife. That’s why my parents’ occupation

information remains unchanged.

per year?

You can see I have pretty good study results and strong finance from my parents. Especially,

planning to return to my country to develop my career as I mentioned earlier.

So, I do believe that I am qualified to study in the U.S.


15. What do you think if I said that you’re not qualified for the visa?

I don’ think so. I have pretty good study results and strong finance from my parents.

Especially, I have a very clear study plan: from choosing school, major, period of study in

the U.S, planning to return to my country to develop my career as I mentioned earlier.

So I do believe that I am qualified to study in the U.S.

- I choose US to study because business environment in US is the best in the world. Next,
degree in US is well-recognized which helps me to stand out for a job race. Also, with the
skills I gained, I can obviously improve my income.
- I choose the U.S to study because the U.S is special and different from other developed
countries like England, Australia or Canada. Special because the U.S is the best-known
for the optimal quality of teaching and research, offering a wide array of opportunities for
practicing, approaching the reality. Different because the U.S has a unique cultural,
therefore I can find out a variety of different cultures in the same country. Another
significant reason is that degree in US is well-recognized which helps me to stand out for
a job race.

university. Students can even choose a double major to pursue. Furthermore,
professors always nice and helpful to students. In addition, Universities has more

- A significant reason why I choose LSU to study because I have a scholarship of 6,000$ at
this university. Moreover, LSU is ranked 72 Top Public Schools according to U.S. News
& World Report, 2020. In addition, LSU offers students opportunities for hands-on
experience working alongside world-class faculty. Top-ranked and popular programs

- When I plan to study abroad, I often search the information on the internet. By ‘entering
websites, ‘forums about study abroad, I know some famous schools such as the
University of Mis’souri-Kansas City, San Jose State University, Washington State
University, and the Louisiana state university. Actually, all of these schools have
excellent education quality because of their accreditation (công nhận) by the higher
learning commission (hội đồng). However, the Louisiana state university is different
from the others because when I sent emails to all of these schools to ask about the
admission process (quá trình nhập học), I was extremely impressed by the ‘prompt

do go hand-in-hand. Education is important in this city and the public schools are well-
known and respected for providing a world-class education. On top of that, Baton Rouge
city ranked 13 Best City for New College Graduates

- I would like to study and return VN immediately when I graduation because my only
purpose is to enhance my knowledge to be more successful in my career path and my

Yes, I ever travelled to Japan and Korea.
In Japan, I visited Meiji Jingu Temple and Fuji Mountain. The landscape was very stunning.
The weather was amazing. The people there are extremely friendly and hospitable.
In Korea, I visited Nami island and Everland Park. I went shopping in the shopping malls and
enjoy Korean traditional food Kimchi.

-(Actually, I already have my own plan) If I have a chance, I will join 6 months or 1 year
probationary period to gain international work experience before returning home. I
believe that with a prestigious degree and working experience in the US, the dream of
opening my own company in my home country is completely achievable.

Because with this major, I will have high job opportunities when I graduate and can develop

I think my lack of confidence is the reason why I couldn’t answer the questions clearly and
persuasively / pərˈswāsivlē / last time. But this time I have changed. I have become much
more confident, more de’termined, and perfectly ready to face with all the questions you are
going to ask me. In reality, I have a very clear study plan, good academic background, strong
finance from my parents and IELTS, and with these advantages, nothing can stop me from
meeting my goal.
