CSCF Call Session Control Function

1. Overview

CSCFis an application-level intelligent session border controller. The unit is deployed at the
user access side for firewall or NAT traversal to reach the softswitch center; by firewall or NAT
traversal, the unit realizes voice stream interconnectivity between IP networks separated by
firewalls.
Based on the sharing characteristic of IP networks,CSCF achieves location–unaffected VoIP,
ridding of the limitations from various kinds of network firewalls or NAT devices on VoIP calls. The
product boasts an intelligent routing function and complete and sound management functions,
ideally applicable to sectors including multi-IP-network converged communications, VoIP, call
centers, and public and private network IP calls.

2. Product Features

 Firewall Traversal
CSCF solves service traversal problems in NAT/ firewall networking. Traditionally, VoIP two-way
connection services are affected by NAT devices, resulting in a failure of service initiation from an
external public network to the intranet. Adopting a unique algorithm, the unit automatically detects
the settings of firewall packet filtering and dynamically controls terminal equipment to implement
effective traversal. It supports multi-layer NAT traversal and provides VoIP session traversal
solutions to various kinds of IP network security settings.
 Intelligent Router for Managing Voice Stream Services
As a new-generation intelligent network router, CSCF can create/ delete routing tables based
on interpretation of signaling streams and establish an exclusive voice stream link for each call
between separate networks.
