DUPAG
Dupag Rock Formation is starting to make waves to enthusiast adventure seekers and
gained more popularity when featured in GMA-7′s top tv news magazine show, Kapuso mo Jessica
Soho. It is a 60-hectare limestone formation that once served as training ground for rebels fighting
against the Marcos regime. Dupag Rock Formation is a cluster of rough limestone boulders 7 to 8
feet high which they strictly follow 6am-5pm time to make sure safety of both tourist and tour
guides.
The adventure starts to a short walk leading to a small river and crossing through a wooden
bridge. It is also expected that upon going to the entrance of the rock formation you’ll be passing by
a small local community. And what’s best, tourist will be challenged in passing to tight spaces, sharp
edges, slippery passages, and deep crevices. Reaching the labyrinth requires a 30 to 45-minute trek
up a hill where various fruit-bearing trees—chesa, namot, and tebbeg, to name a few—serve as
shade and shelter to visitors and different species of birds. From the highest peak, accordingly
named Father Rock, a sweeping view of the neighboring fields, rivers, and valleys can be seen.
Sustainable Practices
It is now considered pride of the province. Three barangays of Luna can be seen from the top of the
rocks. It would take 2 to 3 hours of courage, strength, and faith to finish the maze.
