Week 1 19TH Feb Mitigation and Carbon Accounting
Week 1 19TH Feb Mitigation and Carbon Accounting
Short Brief
This decade has been defined as a decisive decade in determining the climate future for our world. However,
climate change is not well understood, especially in developing countries. With 1.5 degree warming
exceedingly becoming difficult to achieve, this course will introduce you to the basics of climate change.
Climate action is necessary for the world and we intend to bring about awareness on the basics of climate
change and encourage participants to work within their domain to take climate actions for a better
tomorrow. Though climate change brings forth many challenges, it also creates many opportunities. This
course will help you answer some of the basic questions like what is climate change? What is mitigation?
Why should we care about climate change? What can we do towards mitigating climate change? Which
key sectors can play a key role in climate mitigation and how?
