EXECUTIVE SUMMMARY

This is the industrial training report based on 20 weeks long industrial training
period that I had successfully completed in Beeantah Industrial Sdn, Bhd, under
Production Department from 6 February 2023 to 20 Jun 2023 as a requirement of my
Diploma in Mechatronic Engineering in Politeknik Kota Kinabalu. As being a fresh
student, the live experience that gained from the industrial training are very useful for
my career plan.

This report will include on how the manufacturing production process run. This will
also include the work task given to the student throughout the 20 weeks period of
industrial training in Machine Operator. The various task given to the student helps
on nurturing the ability of the student to work in a challenging industrial environment.

Throughtout 20 weeks of the industrial training period, the student had been
assigned to Production Team where the student learns how to operate machine from
raw material to become a complete product. Both engineering teams are closely
related and dependent to each other.

In conclusion, my personal view towards BeeantahIndustrial Sdn Bhd company is a

great place to learn and start a career. With limited knowledge and experience I got,
I tried to my best to express the experience I got from the company in the form of this
report.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION AND ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

1.1 Introduction

I have undergone industrial training at Beeantah Industrial Sdn. Bhd., which is

located at Jalan Perindustrian 3, 81400 Senai, Johor, Malaysia. Internships are an
important platform for all students before graduation to gain real workplace
experience. Therefore, practical training is a good opportunity for students to learn,
gain experience, and prepare.

During the training, I have encountered many challenges and obstacles. Therefore,
from experience, we will be able to face all the problems that will be faced in the
future. Experience is very important nowadays because many companies only
accept employees who have experience in various jobs.

Beeantah Industrial is a manufacturer and supplier of precision parts, machining

parts, hardware, and plastic parts. I was able to apply the knowledge I learned at
Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic to make my business easier. In the beginning, I knew very
little about the work we do here, but after 20 weeks of training here, I learned a lot by
doing practical tasks and observing a technician repairing or installing machines.

In addition, the practical aspect allows me to adapt to a work environment that I

have never experienced before, such as working with diverse people. indirectly, can
improve and teach how to communicate with each other. However, industrial training
is very helpful in adding experience and knowledge if we have a high desire and
effort to learn.

6

CHAPTER 3: TECHNICAL REPORT

3.1 Introduction
A technical report is a formal report designed to convey technical information in a
clear and easily accessible format. In this chapter, the task given to student by the
industrial supervisor will be discussed in detail.

Throughout the 20 weeks period of industrial training, student had been assigned to
Production team. Some of us were given training to becoming Technician in the near
future based on the student’s performance throughout this 20 week of training. We
mostly do machine operating due to lack of workers in the company, that leads to
some of us lack skills to becoming Technician.

3.2 Production
In general, a production worker helps with the proper functioning of assembly lines
in factories and warehouses. On a daily basis, they’re responsible for all the
production processes, for example they operate machinery and assemble equipment
parts. Production worker duties vary based on the factory’s processes and products.
Usually, we maintain and operate production equipment and assist with distributing
the final products. We monitor stock levels and help with shipping procedures.
Finally, we follow safety policies and detect potential machinery problems early on.

Production worker duties and responsibilities include:

• Handling production equipment (e.g., operation, maintenance)

• Assembling and inspecting machinery parts

• Monitoring product shipment

20
3.3 Production Monitoring

Production line monitoring is a method used by manufacturers to gain a

comprehensive view of what’s happening in a factory, in real time. In the past, many
companies dedicated specific employees to monitor their production lines to ensure
products were being manufactured correctly. This allowed manufacturers to identify
any problems in the production line or any errors in the products themselves.
However, this gave a limited view of what was going on in one place at a given
time.

With a production monitoring system in place, manufacturers can use technology

to monitor what’s going on across their entire facility. It provides real time data for the
entire production process, from the start of production, through different
manufacturing stages, all the way to final inspection. This real time production
monitoring lets manufacturers see exactly how products move through the facility, so
they can identify best practices or lag times and highlight areas for improvement.
With the data provided by production monitoring software, managers can make
business decisions to drive efficiency and optimization.

Information provided by production monitoring systems can have a direct impact on

improved performance. Production monitoring systems provide data that’s collected
directly from the production line to cover a wide range of performance criteria, such
as product defects, machine down time, temperature, and more. This gives
production managers with crucial information to make adjustments in real time as
needed or develop solutions to specific issues or customer requirements.

With the increase in automation, CNC machining has become an integral

component of many manufacturing production lines. CNC productivity, therefore, has
become a top priority for many production managers. Being able to identify CNC
productivity problems is a key advantage in maintaining CNC efficiency and avoiding
an idle machine. A CNC production monitoring system can be an extremely useful
tool to help factories determine when and why a CNC machine is idle.

CHAPTER 4: CONCLUSION

4.1 Introduction

The Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) has set all polytechnic students
to undergo industrial training as a condition before receiving diploma recognition.
Indirectly, this industrial training program provides many benefits and rewards for
each polytechnic student.

The main purpose of this industrial training is to give students exposure to the real
world of work. It is an atmosphere where students will feel more responsible,
disciplined and independent in doing the tasks given.

In addition, in the real world of work there are many challenges that need to be
faced. Therefore, the professionalism and intelligence of students is very important
to deal with the problems encountered in the real world of work. Starting from
January 30, 2023, to June 16, 2023, at Beeantah industry Sdn. Bhd various
experiences that I have gained.

To be honest, industrial training is very beneficial because it gives students the

opportunity to experience themselves and know that a working situation is different
from a learning situation. After completing the industrial training, I feel more confident
in doing tasks. This is because the work experience gained during this industrial
training will be very useful in the real world of work in the future.

45
4.2. Comment and suggestions
Industrial training is important to students as a complementary requirement to the
award of a Diploma before completing their studies. If they are under the control of
the polytechnic, they are required to undergo an industrial training program for one
semester.

Various knowledge and experience that I have gained during my time at Beeantah
Sdn. Bhd. even for 20 weeks. However, I still have a lot to improve and learn in the
future.

Furthermore, students have to face more situations in the world of work. This is
because to teach the students themselves how to manage with various situations.
With every opportunity given, students should take advantage of every opportunity
that exists to equip themselves with useful knowledge in the future.

4.3 Student

It is hoped that comrades who will carry out Industrial Training in the future prepare
mentally and physically in advance for the work environment at the industrial training
place.

4.3.1 Make a complete and high-confidence preparation.

Before students undergo industrial training, they need to make sure that high
confidence can be exhibited during training industry with meticulous
preparations. It also helps to have a positive impact on the company or firm
and can provide a good commitment for the entire industry Malaysia.

4.3.2 Selection of the appropriate organization

Before undergoing industrial training, students need to choose an

organization that is parallel to their field at the polytechnic. It is to enable
students to understand what they have learned in more depth as well as avoid
any conflict in an organization.
