EXECUTIVE SUMMMARY
This is the industrial training report based on 20 weeks long industrial training
period that I had successfully completed in Beeantah Industrial Sdn, Bhd, under
Production Department from 6 February 2023 to 20 Jun 2023 as a requirement of my
Diploma in Mechatronic Engineering in Politeknik Kota Kinabalu. As being a fresh
student, the live experience that gained from the industrial training are very useful for
my career plan.
This report will include on how the manufacturing production process run. This will
also include the work task given to the student throughout the 20 weeks period of
industrial training in Machine Operator. The various task given to the student helps
on nurturing the ability of the student to work in a challenging industrial environment.
Throughtout 20 weeks of the industrial training period, the student had been
assigned to Production Team where the student learns how to operate machine from
raw material to become a complete product. Both engineering teams are closely
related and dependent to each other.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION AND ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
1.1 Introduction
During the training, I have encountered many challenges and obstacles. Therefore,
from experience, we will be able to face all the problems that will be faced in the
future. Experience is very important nowadays because many companies only
accept employees who have experience in various jobs.
6
1.2 Industrial Training Objective
Every student of the Polytechnic of the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia will
undergo industrial training in government sectors or private firms for one semester to
enable the student to obtain the diploma that has been taken at the polytechnic.
Among the industrial training objectives obtained are as follows:
a) Understanding the real work culture (corporate culture) as preparation for the
future.
b) Provide an opportunity to get a job in a field related to their studies.
c) Instill trust and responsibility in carrying out tasks.
d) Must practice good work ethics and rules.
e) Can instill a spirit of cooperation in doing work while maintaining good
relations with employees and the organization.
a) One of the important steps in shaping students’ skills not just by doing
practical work but also to be able to write meaningful and organized
reports.
b) Develop responsibilities and self-discipline in preparing a report.
c) Provides an overview about the importance of writing reports in performing
any work activities.
d) So that students can form conclusions about what they have learned
during the Industrial Training.
e) Giving the students an opportunity in searching information on their own
and provide information where students need to know about the
organization.

Figure 1.4.2 : Beeantah Company Building
The company has a wide variety of machines, from auto cam lathes for high
volume parts to double spindle, double turret 4-axis centre swivel/mill (Nakamura
Tome from Japan) for low and medium volume parts. The main machine team
consists of 14 units of CNC automatic lathes from Citizen Japan. Most of the
9
machines in this factory have a milling function, which allows the direct completion of
parts in one process.
More importantly, we have strong quality control team. we are ISO 9001-2000
certified company. With more than 30-year experience in this line, we developed a
strict but efficient quality control procedures for all our operation.

CHAPTER 2: SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES DONE DURING INDUSTRIAL
TRAINING
2.1 Introduction
This chapter covers all the activities carried out by trainees during the industrial
training period. The starting date is February 30, 2023, until June 16, 2023,
equivalent to 20 weeks. Each industrial training report written in a reflection journal
book is an entry from the official record to report tasks related to the industrial
training journey.
In addition, the writing of this report takes into account each task according to
systematic and integrated priorities, and the report is adapted to the current
relationship so that self-improvement in carrying out responsibility and trust can be
developed in tandem.
During the Industrial Training (L.I) located at Beeantah Sdn.Bhd., the trainees have
followed all the regulations that have been set just like the staff at this company.
Every day officially, working hours start at 8.00 am, and end at 5.00 pm which is
Monday to Saturday and must work overtime until 8:00 pm. While on Sunday this
company does not operate (holiday). During this industrial training at Beeantah
Sdn.Bhd, trainees were exposed to various work experiences related to various
types of CNC machines. There are two types of machines in this industry, namely
lathe machine and milling machine. Each machine has a difference in the maximum
size of the material that can be cut.

CHAPTER 3: TECHNICAL REPORT
3.1 Introduction
A technical report is a formal report designed to convey technical information in a
clear and easily accessible format. In this chapter, the task given to student by the
industrial supervisor will be discussed in detail.
Throughout the 20 weeks period of industrial training, student had been assigned to
Production team. Some of us were given training to becoming Technician in the near
future based on the student’s performance throughout this 20 week of training. We
mostly do machine operating due to lack of workers in the company, that leads to
some of us lack skills to becoming Technician.
3.2 Production
In general, a production worker helps with the proper functioning of assembly lines
in factories and warehouses. On a daily basis, they’re responsible for all the
production processes, for example they operate machinery and assemble equipment
parts. Production worker duties vary based on the factory’s processes and products.
Usually, we maintain and operate production equipment and assist with distributing
the final products. We monitor stock levels and help with shipping procedures.
Finally, we follow safety policies and detect potential machinery problems early on.

We use sunnen gauge to measure the inner diameter of material.
One sunnen gauge can only measure one type of product. To measure
other product’s, quality control team have to calibrate the sunnen gauge.

is for knocking the wrench when the spring chuck is too tight. Only brass areallowed
to knock on stuff as they do less damages than steels.

CHAPTER 4: CONCLUSION
4.1 Introduction
The Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) has set all polytechnic students
to undergo industrial training as a condition before receiving diploma recognition.
Indirectly, this industrial training program provides many benefits and rewards for
each polytechnic student.
The main purpose of this industrial training is to give students exposure to the real
world of work. It is an atmosphere where students will feel more responsible,
disciplined and independent in doing the tasks given.
In addition, in the real world of work there are many challenges that need to be
faced. Therefore, the professionalism and intelligence of students is very important
to deal with the problems encountered in the real world of work. Starting from
January 30, 2023, to June 16, 2023, at Beeantah industry Sdn. Bhd various
experiences that I have gained.
45
4.2. Comment and suggestions
Industrial training is important to students as a complementary requirement to the
award of a Diploma before completing their studies. If they are under the control of
the polytechnic, they are required to undergo an industrial training program for one
semester.
Various knowledge and experience that I have gained during my time at Beeantah
Sdn. Bhd. even for 20 weeks. However, I still have a lot to improve and learn in the
future.
Furthermore, students have to face more situations in the world of work. This is
because to teach the students themselves how to manage with various situations.
With every opportunity given, students should take advantage of every opportunity
that exists to equip themselves with useful knowledge in the future.
4.3 Student
It is hoped that comrades who will carry out Industrial Training in the future prepare
mentally and physically in advance for the work environment at the industrial training
place.
Before students undergo industrial training, they need to make sure that high
confidence can be exhibited during training industry with meticulous
preparations. It also helps to have a positive impact on the company or firm
and can provide a good commitment for the entire industry Malaysia.
