and archaeological sites and remains
protected under Act
• Four hundred and fifty monuments and
sites states were also added.
• Some more monuments and
archaeological sites were also declared
as national importance under section 126
of the states reorganization act 1956

central government for grading and
classifying protected monuments and

 AS PER MASTER PLAN DELHI 2021
• The MPD -2021 has notified six zones across the
Capital as heritage zones.
• The following areas have been designated as Archaeological
Parks:
• Mehrauli Archaeological Park.
• Tughlaquabad Archaeological Park.
• Sultan Garhi Archaeological Park.

 AS PER MASTER PLAN DELHI 2021
• The MPD -2021 has notified six zones across the Capital as heritage
zones.

• Specific heritage complex within Walled City of Delhi,

Shahjahanabad.
• Specific heritage complex within Lutyens Bungalow Zone.
• Specific heritage complex within Nizamuddin and Humayun's Tomb
Complex.
• Specific heritage complex within Mehrauli area.
• Specific heritage complex within Vijay Mandal - Begumpur - Sarai
Shahji – Lal Gumbad.
• Specific heritage complex within Chirag Delhi.

 Conservation strategies as per MPD-2021
• Built heritage of Delhi needs to be protected,
nourished and nurtured by all of us.
• The agencies concerned with the protection of Delhi
built heritage are ASI, GNCTE, state archaeology
Department, NDMC, MCD, Cantonment Board and
DDA.

 Conservation strategies as per MPD-2021
• Under conservation strategy should include promotion
of conservation of the civic and urban heritage,
architecturally significant historical landmarks, living
monuments, memorials and historical gardens,
riverfront, city wall, gates, bridges, vistas, public
space etc.

• Maintain and update a database
• Develop organizational capacity for heritage management
• Define all the applicable terms
• List of heritage buildings based on the following criteria
1. The age of the building
2. Its special value for architectural or cultural reasons
3. Its relevance to history
4. Its association with a well known character or event
5. Its value as part of a group of buildings

 Conservation strategies as per MPD-2021
• List of heritage buildings based on the following criteria.
6. The uniqueness of the building or any object or
structure fixed to the building or forming part of the
land and comprised within the curtilage of the
building
7. Prepare guideline for development, redevelopment,
additions, alterations repairs, renovation and reuse of
the heritage buildings.
8. Implementing programmes for education and
awareness

 Air funnels/ Restrictions in the vicinity of
Aerodromes
• Buildings in the vicinity of aerodromes, the maximum
height of such buildings shall be decided in
consultation with the civil aviation authorities. This
shall be regulated by the rules for giving no objection
certificate for construction of buildings in the vicinity
of aerodromes.

 Restrictions in the vicinity of Aerodromes
• Transitional Area; An area which is below a specified
surface sloping upward and outward from the edge of
the approach funnel and from a line originating at the
end of the inner edge of each approach area, drawn
parallel to the runway center line in the direction of
landing
