1. Wangari Muta Maathai

 Date and Place of birth: 1 April 1940 in Nyeri, Kenya.


 Awards:Nobel Peace Prize for his work in sustainable development,
democracy, and peace.
 Vision and Mision:Its main mission is through the Green Movement,
which aims to promote tree planting, conservation of natural
resources, and fighting for women’s rights.

2. Paul Hawken

 Date and Place of birth: February 8, 1946 in California


 Awards: Green Cross Millennium Award for Individual
Environmental Leadership
 Vision and Mision: inspire and encourage change towards more
sustainable business practices, as well as increase awareness of the
importance of environmental sustainability among society and
business leaders.
3. Berta Cáceres

 Date and Place of birth: March 4, 1971 La Esperanza, Honduras


 Awards: In 2012, the Society for Justice and Peace awarded
Cáceres the Shalom Award. Recipient of the Lifetime Achievement
Award in 2016
 Vision and mision: reflects his commitment and struggle in
fighting for environmental rights and indigenous rights.

4. Kumi Naidoo

 Date and Place of birth: born 1965 in Durban, South Africa


 Awards: Lawson Award for peaceful activism in (2014). Selected
as one of 21 South African ICONS: Honoring the legacy of Nelson
Mandela (2013)
 Vision and Mision: Kumi Naidoo’s vision regarding the
environment and human rights is to create a more just, sustainable
and peaceful world. Its main mission is to fight for social justice,
protect the environment, and fight for human rights throughout the
world.
5. Jane Goodall

 Date and place of birth: April 3, 1934 London, England


 Awards:Kyoto Prize (1990) Hubbard Medal (1995) Tyler Prize for
Environmental Achievement (1997) Dame Commander of the
Order of the British Empire (2004) Templeton Prize (2021)
 Vision and mision: to promote understanding and respect for all
forms of life and create better understanding between humans,
animals and the environment. The mission is to protect wildlife,
promote nature conservation, and empower people to take positive
action for our planet.
