1. Program Objective

The Graduate School of Biotechnology, Kyung Hee University aims to nurture global
leaders who are specialized in the modern genetic biotechnology, focusing on the creative
education and research for the cellular, biochemical and molecular basis of life as well as
biological engineering. A Master studentship is currently available in the laboratory of
Developmental Genetics ( Professor Yongsu Jeong), Graduate School of Biotechnology, Kyung
Hee University.

Our laboratory has been interested in understanding molecular mechanisms of how

mammalian brain is developing. Using genetically engineered mice (transgenic and knockout
mice), we decipher the function and role for transcription factors in regulating the process of
brain formation.

2. Eligibility

Fields of studies: Biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology and related sciences.

Applicants who apply for the Master’s program must hold a Bachelor’s degree or
diploma that is equivalent to or higher than a Bachelor’s degree.

Applicants must maintain a grade point average (G.P.A) of at least 2.64 on a 4.0 scale,
2.80 on a 4.3 scale, 2.91 on a 4.5 scale, or grades/marks/score of 80% or higher from the
previously attended institution

Applicants who have Korean proficiency or English proficiency may be given preference.

Potential candidates should possess strong molecular biology, enthusiasm, endeavor and
hard work of research.

3. Scholarship payment

The Scholarship’s support includes: tuitions, monthly allowance.

4. Time schedule

This scholarship is now open to the candidates from the Asian countries.

The application deadline is 15 September 2015.

The coming semester for next year will start in March 2016.
