Shape: we have choose torus as shape of our space colony cause it has many benefits. It has symmetry, it
distribute mass equally which reduces wobbliness of space colony so it can be more stable in space. It
rotates slowly which is very useful while docking spacecraft and other vehicles. But it is very hard to
make. Torus: A doughnut-shaped object such as an O ring. It is a surface of an object
formed by revolving a circle in three-dimensional space about an axis that lies in the same plane as the
circle.

PARTS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS

Docking ports: These ports are used in connection and docking of space crafts, modules, other vehicles
etc.

Asteroid sensors: These sensors help us to detect whether asteroids are nearby us Or not and are they
coming near us so, we are protected from asteroids.

Dumping yard: This help to dump garbage in one area and later we can remove from our space colony.

Spokes: It help people to move from one place to another and connects the torus.

Solar panel: Solar panels help to gather solar energy from sun which can be used to generate electricity.

Thrusters: Thrusters is used to rotate our settlement it is useful when the asteroids are incoming or when
sun changes it’s location.

Boosters: Boosters is one of the main part of space colony because it helps to move settlement from one
place to another and to travel longer distances.
