ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

PROJECT TITLE: EmpoweREAD (Empower the Readers to Enhance their Ability and
Develop Interest in Reading)
PROJECT TIME FRAME: OCTOBER 2021 TO MAY 2022
In support with the Department of Education’s program, Every Child A Reader, we had
administered the Revised Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (PHIL-IRI) and we had identified
our pupils who are on the frustration level.
As a result, it was found that some of our learners even in the higher grades were
noticeably had a difficult time in reading with comprehension. Hence, the school

reading among learners and implement and sustain an effective school reading program in
support of the DepEd Learning Continuity program.
Teachers asked donations for the provision of ABAKADA booklets and printed reading
The project is still ongoing as planned originally which will last until April of this school year.
Another set of reading materials were already distributed to the select learners need intervention
who are expected to improve their skills in reading with understanding.

In support with the Department of Education’s program, Every Child A Reader, we had
administered the Revised Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (PHIL-IRI) and we had identified
our pupils who are on the frustration level.
As a result, it was found that some of our learners even in the higher grades were
noticeably had a difficult time in reading with comprehension. Hence, the school faculty and
administrators decided to adopt the Project EmpoweREAD.
The project aimed to decrease the percentage of instructional and frustration level in
reading among learners and implement and sustain an effective school reading program in
support of the DepEd Learning Continuity program.
Teachers asked donations for the provision of ABAKADA booklets and printed reading
materials with assessment. They were distributed and retrieved among the learners during the
scheduled retrieval and distribution of SIPacks. Reading sessions was conducted at their home
guided by their parents/guardian then their progress report was monitored by their respective
advisers with the help of the reading coordinators both from elementary and junior high school.
The project was planned on October which lasted last may of this school. Those who were
attended the face-to-face, specifically JHS learners, are diagnosed again to check their
comprehension level. Learners from JHS were found under the frustration level were given take
home reading materials and underwent oral reading after their regular schedule.
The reading program was indeed a success for most of the respondents were able to
achieve the target level in which instructional and independent.

In the recent Phil-IRI and EGRA, it was found out that some of the learners in Elementary, Junior
and Senior High School are not yet readers based on the result they obtained in the said annual
Reading Ability Test administered by the division. It is a perennial challenge of every teacher in
many schools be it private or public, thus, the School Reading Coordinators thought of the project
“EMPOWERead” that will surely enhance and improve their reading with comprehension.
With this regard, we would like to ask your permission and utmost support to this matter so we can
start it as soon as you affix your signature below signifying your approval.
Attached herewith is the concept paper with project proposal on how it will be implemented.

The opening of classes will begin on September 13 this school year, as soon as the IATF allows the
DepEd to do so.With this regard, we would like to ask your permission and utmost support to our
forth coming Brigada Eskwela which is hold annually in accordance with the DepEd
Memorandum. The purpose of which is to make the school totally ready in all aspects to make it
more conducive to learning environment.
Undeniably, pandemic affected the financial stability of the many Filipino families so does ours in
the community. With all our concerns and eagerness to help our learners most especially those
who are in the marginalized sectors, we, the teachers together with our school head, had come
up with the project which we call “SUPPLIES” to at least address the financial problem of providing
the school materials needed by the learners.
In line with this, we are beseeching your good heart to ask for a donation be it in kind or monetary
in any amount you can give possibly to help us realize our endeavor as educators of this
institution.
