Hello everyone, today I’m going to introduce to you the theme of

“Modern society and Women’s roles in it”. In my table of contents I would

talk about : Modern society, women over time, 21st century women in
developed countries, 21st century women in developing countries, a little
interview and a brief conclusion .
Modern society is based on a series of social, political, economic and
cultural changes that have taken place over the course of time especially for
women.
The three feature of modern society is: Democracy, Liberty and
Equality. Modern society is also known as the society of technology and
industrialization because it was a time of complete change in which the
whole world was paralyzed by the technology that appeared around the
world.
Some decades ago women were typically seen as housewives and
caregivers. Nowadays, women are multifaceted individuals who are
capable of taking on a variety of roles. A modern woman has the power to
make her own decisions, to freely express her opinions.
However is this true in every countries?
In 21st century women of today are very conscious of their social,
economic, intellectual, mental, and spiritual development. Their role both
within and outside the home has become an important feature. They have
the power to make their own decisions and give their opinions. Here we
have a woman who has her own business, a woman who is a mother, a
woman who takes care of herself and a woman who can cook.
In 21st century rural women play a key role in supporting their
households and communities in achieving food and nutrition security,
generating income, and improving rural livelihoods and overall well-being.
The contribution of women to a society's transition from pre-literate to
literate. In these three images we can see several women who do everything
for their families and who end up not thinking about themselves.
Now we have an interview, these questions were asked to two women
who are very important to me and who have different views on life.
Vera Pereira is my aunt and she is a tutor in Gueifães, she has her own
business.

Marta Barbosa is my mother and she is an International truck driver in

Primafrio.
This is Waris´s speech in Flower of Desert for UN.

In conclusion, 21st century woman wants to have equal opportunities as

man and foremost challenge is how to balance work and home. Gender
bias, unequal pay, mental and physical harassment, insufficient leave are
some of the key issues of working woman at the workplac. The modern era
is closely associated with the development of individualism, capitalism,
urbanization and a belief in the possibilities of technological and political
progress.
