Reflection on the mass on April 16, 2023.

According to one writer, the mercy of Jesus depicts his life. Jesus is the image of
God's divine mercy, by laying his life on the cross. we are forgiven because of the
grace and mercy that comes from Jesus Christ. Hence, the reason why we observe the
Feast of the Divine Mercy.

Thomas was an obedient apostle to Jesus as he never doubted the innate goodness of
Jesus and that he is the Messiah. When Jesus was crucified, the image of Jesus'
divinity in Saint Thomas's perspective was shattered, because he truly believed
that Jesus Christ was God. This is when Thomas began to have doubts about Jesus,
and inquired of the risen Lord to demonstrate that he is indeed Christ.

What lesson can we get from this?

Thomas separated himself from the other apostles because he doubted. Jesus revealed
himself to the apostles, yet Thomas wasn't convinced.

When we have an abundance of everything, it's easy to have faith in Jesus—but when
we undergo trials and tribulations, we find it difficult to pray. As the doubt
grows bigger, we separate ourselves from God and the church. Just like Thomas, we
have doubted God's presence in our lives many times. Therefore, once we accept
God's grace bestowed upon us, our sufferings will be meaningful.
