THE OVERVIEW OF IMPLEMENTATION OF THE


NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM (NSTP)
ACTIVITY I:

1. How will you differentiate the RA 9163 to RA 7077 in line with the implementation of
the
National Service Training Program in the higher education institution?
RA no 9163 is an act establishing the NSTP for tertiary level students, amending for purpose
of RA no 7077 which is the act of providing the development, administration, organization,
training, maintenance and utilization of the citizen armed force of the armed forces of the
Philippines and for other purposes. RA no 9163, also known as the National Service Training
Program (NSTP) is a program that aims to improve civic awareness and defense
preparedness in youth by instilling service ethic and patriotism while undergoing training in
one of the program components which is: ROTC, LTS, CWTS. Its numerous components were
created with the intention of enhancing the youth’s active participation in the general
welfare. RA no 7077 is a program that lays the foundation for the Philippine’s armed forces
to expand in the event of war, invasion, or rebellion; to assist in disaster relief and rescue;
and to aid in socioeconomic development.

2. What are the components of the National Service Training Program (NSTP)?
Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (ROTC)
It is designed to provide military training to motivate, train, organize and mobilize them for
national defense preparedness.
Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS)
It is an activities contributory to the general welfare and the betterment of life for the
members of community and enhance the moral of the citizenry and other social welfare
services.
Literacy Training Services (LTS)
It is designed to train the students to teach literacy and numeracy skills to school children,
out-of-school youths and other segments of society in need of their services.

3. Give at least 10 good deeds that you promote or sustain reverence and respect the
Philippines
Flag.
1. standing straight whenever the national anthem is playing in public and private
places.
2. Sing the national anthem with respect.
3. Never put the flag on the ground or never let it touch the ground.
4. Properly place the right hand into your chest while singing the national anthem.
5. Never wear the national flag in whole or in part as a costume or uniform.
6. Look straight to the national flag while singing the national anthem
7. Never play with the national anthem such as putting it into remix or changing its
lyrics.
8. Never use the national flag as a toy.
9. Be silent if you don’t know how to sing the national anthem.
10. Always be respectful when you are in the presence of the national flag.

4. The practice of volunteerism as an approach in order to reach national development


and international understanding. Every Filipino should be educated of volunteerism to
foster social justice, solidarity and sustainable development. As NSTP student, how will
you exercise/practice volunteerism in your;
a. home
Always help your family in any chores or task they have. Be obedient and patient to your
elderly because most of them have difficulties. Don’t wait till your parents scold you when
you are given a task always do it swiftly
b. community
Always help when someone needed you in your community. You can donate the things that
you don’t need to the people who needed it. Maintain a healthy environment by cleaning
your communities’ surroundings.
c. School
Participate in every event that is being held and students that needs and assistance. Pick up
trash when you see it just lying on the ground and always follow the school rules.
