The maps depicts the current and predicted Islip town centre.
We can easily figure that pedestrianisation, shopping and housing area
are planned, meanwhile, a new road is planned for vehicles. Looking at the current map, the Islip town centre is developed around a main road, which go along from the west to the east. Moreover, there are shops to the north and more in the south of the main road. Whilst the north has the countryside, in the south there is a huge area is occupied by housing. This big area also be limmited by school and a park in west to east. Both of these structures are connected with the main road by 2 side roads. Move on to the predictions one, the city centre is surrounded by a circular road. It expected to be built as a dual carriageway. In the middle of the centre is planned to be a road for pedestrians only. Eventhough the changes in the southern part of city centre is unnoticeable other than some new housing and in the size of the park. There are tremendous differents in the northern, shops in there will be demolished instead shopping centre and housing area will be replaced. A bus station and a parking area are also planned to be built to the west and the east of the shopping centre, respectively.
