Concept Paper
Week 2
February 19, 2024
Health vulnerability is one of a major problems that a community faced. The
effect of health vulnerability can cause a problems in the community, either local or
international health vulnerability. In this concept paper I am going to share the concept
of health vulnerability and it’s differences and similarities.

In international concept, vulnerability is the susceptibility of individuals or

populations to adverse health outcomes due to various factors. Vulnerability
encompasses a range of dimensions, including social, economic, environmental, and
health-related factors. Risk-Protective Balance: It results from the interplay between risk
factors (such as poverty, lack of access to healthcare, and social exclusion) and
protective factors (such as social support, education, and resilience). While in the Local
Concept of health vulnerability, heath vulnerability may differ based on cultural,
economic, and healthcare system nuances. Health Infrastructure: Availability of
healthcare services influences vulnerability. Community Resilience: Local communities
often develop coping mechanisms and resilience strategies to address specific
vulnerabilities. Policy and Interventions: Local health policies and interventions target
specific vulnerable groups. Both international and local perspectives recognize risk
factors (e.g., poverty, chronic illness) as contributors to vulnerability. Both levels inform
policy decisions to address vulnerability.

In conclusion, it is important to us that we all know how does the health

vulnerability affect everything. Understanding this concept is crucial for me as a student,
because it gives me a valuable insights and information regarding the effects of health
vulnerability in local and international concept that will guide me in the future.
