This village is at 25KM distance from the block. We had informed the Gender CRP about our project respondants and asked him their proper time. Gender
CRP, MBK, GPP were present in the mission Shakti hall before we go. We interviewed the GPP first. The IDI interview occuered in the mission Shakti hall. The
interview was about for 2 hours. The GPP answered all the answers actively. The GPP was the president of Galeswar SHG and he was chosen randomly from the
30 GPPs.

About the Village

This village is very big. There are 90 wards and 15 sahi in total. This village is fairly clean. Most of the people are dependent on farming. The women of the SHG
are doing their works actively which includes mushroom, fish cultivation, fish larva etc. There are people of general, OBC and SC caste but no ST caste are
present.

Problems of male and female in their daily life

Women are doing men work but not the vice versa. For example, cooking and handling kids can be done by women only. After COVID, many micro finance
groups are coming to village,

women are taking loans but can not repay it. By this, they are facing many difficulties. Some people are migrating to repay the loan. Those who haven’t studied
much or nor getting jobs after studying are going to Hyderabad and Mumbai for work. Those who are working in agricultural fields are getting 400 rupees and
those who are plumbing are getting 600 rupees.

2 out 3 persons in a family may not have names in the Ration Card of some people or missing names of some people.

The SHGs link their names in the card by which they can easily get their rights. Many domestic violence cases has been solved in the CLF, GPLF and Sarpanch
level.

Changes after Joining in SHG

Women are working on many things after joining the SHG. They are creating a name of themselves. Going outside, by taking loans from the SHG, they are
starting their own business or helping in their husband’s business. They are managing their home properly. They are giving money for their children’s study. The
SHG women of this village are very developed. The SHG members along with the GPP have cleaned 5 ponds and cultivating fish there. Mushroom cultivation,
poultry, goatry and many other works are being done. Women of the village didn’t know about any Govt. schemes. The GPP himself didn’t know about labour
card and BSKY card

After the training in SHG group, they came to know all these things and helping others. After joining the SHG, The lifestyle of Women and men of the village has
changed a lot. Earlier, people were not able to get benefits of Aadhar card or Ration card. Now with the help of GPP they are getting all the benefits.

Entitlement

There were many people who didn’t have job or labour card neither they knew about the Biju Swastya Kalyan Jojana and the advantages of that card. GPPs
made them understand about the advantage of the card of getting upto 5 lakhs of free treatment.

The changes are being doubled after the opening of work inspiring centres. The women came to know about the 181 helpline number and men also came to
know that if they torture the women of the house, they will call 181. By this, they have the fear of torturing any woman of their home.

Case Study

There was a person in the village. He used to beat his wife. He used to say that, his wife has relations with other men and using bad language. He used to tie
his garment with his wife’s garment because he thought that his wife would elope with any other men. One day the wife untied the knot and hide behind a
temple for 6 days. When a woman found her and told her to return home and that she would talk to her husband. But the wife denied. The woman informed
this case to GPP after which it came to inspire centre. After this, the MBK didi, Gender CRP, GPP everyone made the husband understand by which both are
living happily now.

2nd story

There was a woman in the village. Her parents are dead and she has 2 brothers. After her parents death, she worked hard to earn for her brothers’ study and
to make them good human being. The elder brother got married and didn’t think anything about the sister. She is unmarried till now. The elder brother and his
wife tortures the sister, beat her and use bad language. Not able to bear the pain anymore, the sister told GPP everything. Then the GPP, Gender CRP, MBK came
to her house and tried to make him understand but failed. After explain 2 times, the sister in law apologized the sister. Then the case was solved.
