EXPERIMENT No. 3
Objective: Making a cut-out from a square piece of MS flat using hand hacksaw and chipping.
Drilling and tapping practice on MS Flat

MATERIAL:

M.S. Flat 50X50X10mm.

TOOLS REQUIRED:

Bastered file, fitter bench vice, hack saw, drill bit, tape, try square, steel scale,
scriber, marking table with marking gauge & surface plate center punch ball peen
hammer etc.

PROCEDURE:
1. Check the raw material size.
2. Fix the job securely in the fitting bench vice.
3. File the reference plane with a bastered file.
4. Check fitness of hacksaw blade in hacksaw frame.
5. File the side one then second and check with try square from reference side.
6. These side are perpendicular to the reference side.
7. Check right angle with try square and check size of job also.
8. Apply marking media on job surface.
9. Mark out line as per drawing and punching with center punch.
10. Sawing along the marking and cut a square notch with hacksaw.
11. Drilling three hole on drilling machine and tapping in one hole.

12. Grind a 10mm radius corner with help of grinder machine.


RESULT:
Thus the object of desired dimension is produced.
