 About the training programme
In recent years, the global agricultural landscape has
undergone a significant shift towards sustainable practices,
driven by the urgent challenges posed by climate change,
depletion of natural resources and the imperative for
nutritional security. Organic farming has emerged as a
promising solution to achieve sustainability while addressing
climate change and ensuring nutritional security. At its core,
organic farming adopts a holistic approach that seeks to
balance ecological, economic and social factors. Recognizing
the need to educate early-stage researchers on contemporary
approaches and techniques in organic farming, a national
high-end workshop titled "Novel Approaches and Techniques
in Organic Farming to Enhance Sustainability, Nutritional
Security, and Climate Change Mitigation" has been
organized. The program is designed to empower PG/PhD
students, agricultural professionals and enthusiasts with
cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills to promote more
effective organic agriculture.
The workshop also dedicates its sessions to field visits,
interaction with successful entrepreneurs, certification
processes, quality standards, and market trend analysis.
Participants will gain insights into navigating the certification
requirements for organic farming, opening doors to lucrative
markets that prioritize sustainability and environment-friendly
practices. Overall, this training program is tailored to equip
participants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate
the complexities of modern agriculture and contribute to the
advancement of sustainable and organic farming practices.

In essence, this workshop will pave the way for a better
understanding of organic farming. The knowledge gained in
the hands-on training during workshop will help to build a
base for taking up research in organic/natural farming. The
interest of postgraduate students and young scientists will
be sparked in the area of organic farming, which will
eventually lead them to take up studies on biodiversity and
conservation of environment.

India, is an ideal location for hosting training programs due to

and networking. The University of Agricultural Sciences

Who can apply
The training programme is open for postgraduate
students who have completed coursework /scientists/
extension personnel of ICAR institutes/SAUs. The number of
participants is limited to 25. Participants selection would be
based on work, experience and involvement in organic/
natural /sustainable /ecofriendly research.
How to apply
The interested candidates may send their nomination
through proper channel in the prescribed application format
neatly typed in A4 paper. The scanned copy of dully filled-in
application form approved by the competent authority should
be uploaded online at https://riof.trainingsdashboard.in/
on/before 10 February 2024. The selected candidates will be
informed by e-mail within two days. All the candidates should
mention their e-mail address, telephone and mobile numbers
for correspondence.
Course Fee
No registration fee for the course
Travel and Accomodation
Selected participants will be provided to and fro fare
limiting to AC-II tier train/bus by shortest route on production
of original receipt/ticket as per their entitlement. If any
participant chooses to travel by air, their claim shall be
restricted to AC -II tier train fair only.
Boarding and Lodging
Free lodging and boarding will be provided to the
participants during the programme. The participant should
abide by the rules and regulations of the university.
