Causes of
Preventing Cholera Cholera

Drinking contaminated water: This is the


most common way cholera spreads.
Contaminated water can come from wells,
dams, rivers or even household water
supplies that have been improperly treated.
Eating contaminated food : Food can become
1. Ensure safe drinking water
contaminated with cholera if it is washed or

20 000 people and 370 deaths registered as of 23 January. WHO is working closely with
the government of Zimbabwe to implement comprehensive responsestrategies
