Part 2
Part 2
1) Scientists carry out tests and experiments to answer a question or prove that
their prediction is correct about something .
2) They take measurements more than one time , record their data for every time to
decide if the results were reliable or not .

3) Scientists often share their results across other scientists from different countries
but imagine can a scientist from USA compare his results with another scientist from
England for the same experiment but every scientist use different ways of
measurements such as : the American scientist used balance to measure mass of
something by kilograms ( standard measurements ), but the English scientist used
cups (non standard measurements) to measure the mass?
4) Definitely No because they didn’t use the same way of measurements.
5) Scientists also can’t use cups , feet or hands in measurements because they are
different but they must use standard measurements like kilograms , grams …….etc
Note :
standard measurements such as using
kilograms , grams , kilometers , meters ,
cm ,……..
Non standard measurements such as using
cups , your hands or your feet.
6) They didn’t work as real scientists
Because they didn’t use Standard measurements .
7) They must use standard measurements such as :
Scale to measure mass of paper clips in grams
or distance between each magnet and paper clips in
Centimeters to know accurately the strength of
each magnet.
Let’s do this experiment in more accurate
Way !
By changing from measuring the

number of paper clips(non standard)
each magnet could lift to length of the
paper clips in cm or mass of paper
Objective: clips in gm (standard).
To determine which
type of magnet (horseshoe, ring,
circular, or bar) is the strongest?
Materials:
-Horseshoe magnet
-Ring magnet
-Circular magnet
-Bar magnet
-A ruler or measuring tape.
-One paper clip
-Notebook and pen for recording observations.
