22. If the Rotor Type Value appeared during Step 12 on page 10, then continue with Host OS Installation on page 15. If
the Rotor Type Value did not appear, then complete this step.
Step 12 on page 10 asked you to record the Rotor Type value. During Host Application installation you will match
this number to a chart in the installation instructions, which has the correct Rotor Type Value to use. If the value did
not appear while performing Step 12 on page 10, you will have to get the rotor casting number off of the back of the
rotor. Since getting this value requires powering off the wall box and opening up the gantry, you may want to
perform this procedure before you start the Host OS and Application Software Installation.
a. Use the following steps to power down all CIRS Servers:
i. Open CIRS folder on the Host computer Desktop.
ii. Double-click on the icon for the server you want to power down (Recon S-1, Recon S-2, Recon S-3).
iii. Click OK at the security warning.
iv. Log on as “philips_service”. In the Password field, enter the appropriate password. Click OK.
v. On the server Desktop, right-click on the Windows Taskbar and select Task Manager.
vi. On Task Manager, click Shut Down > Turn Off.
vii. Click Yes on any messages that appear, then click OK on the Remote Desktop Disconnected prompt.
viii. During shutdown, the Remote Desktop connection will automatically disconnect and return you to the Host
desktop.
ix. Repeat for the other servers in your configuration.
b. Power down the Host.
c. Power down the 480 V wall box.
d. Remove the Gantry Front and Rear Cover.
e. Release the motor brake.
f. Rotate the Gantry so that the X-Ray tube is in
the 12 o’clock position.
g. On the back of the rotor, just left of the tube, is
the Casting Part Number (4535 67x xxxxx).
The number is part of the casting itself. Write
this number down.
h. Engage the motor brake.
i. Replace the gantry covers.
j. Power on the 480 V wall box, then continue with Host OS Installation on page 15.

Host OS Installation
NOTE The following procedure must be done on the HOST computer, not the CIRS.
1. Log on as philips_service. If the Scanner Application is open, click Home > Logout.
2. Unplug the system from the network, as this will minimize the chances of getting a virus before the patches are
installed. If the remote recon option is installed, disconnect the network cable between the CIRS and the EBW.
3. Remove archive media from the drives. If the Host computer has a DVD-RAM drive, remove the disk. If the system
has an EOD drive, it may hang during the installation process if an EOD is in the drive. To remove the EOD from the
EOD drive:
a. On the Desktop, double-click on My Computer.
b. Right-click on Optical Drive (F:), and select Eject. The drive may also be listed as EOD1(F:).
c. Make sure there are no USB memory drives plugged in.
4. Insert the DVD labeled: Brilliance_CT_OS_V2.3.5.30001 into the CD/DVD drive and reboot the system.
5. When the system reboots, Windows will start loading
files.
6. Wait for the Installation Setup window to appear (see

CIRS Software Installation
BrillianceTM CT 6/10/16-Slice Configuration (air) V2.3.6.13001 System Software Installation Manual Rev A
Overview
CIRS Server Hardware
The CIRS hardware consists of up to three servers and an Ethernet switch in a rack. The CIRS servers are referred to
as CIRS-S1, CIRS-S2, and CIRS-S3. In the rack, CIRS-S1 is located at the bottom, CIRS-S2 is in the middle, and
CIRS-S3 is at the top. CIRS-S2 has a 3DBP board installed. CIRS-S1 has an Acquisitor board installed. The Vertical S1
server, or a one-server configuration system, has both the Acquisitor and 3DBP boards installed.
NOTE With Brilliance 2.3, you no longer need to create a service partition on any server. If your server already has a
service partition, just leave it be.
Network Connection
When loading software, make sure the CIRS Ethernet switch is not connected to a hospital or Philips network. This
prevents viruses during the installation.
If you only need to re-install CIRS Application Software, then choose a procedure below:
• Reload CIRS Application Software on a one-server configuration on page 73
