The 13th annual RSM Golf Classic, organized by Coastal Carolina University’s Recreation and
Sport Management event planning class, will be held on April 5 at the Hackler Golf Course with
a shotgun start at 1PM.

On the day of the event, check-in for each foursome will open at 11AM. Golf will start at 1PM
for our 104 participants. Carts are provided for participants, but they will be keeping track of
their own scores. Once the tournament is completed and each foursome has handed in their
scorecards, there will be an awards banquet with food provided. The winner will be announced at
the banquet. The RSM Golf Classic has already sold out just as it has in previous years. The goal
of this event is experiential learning for RSM 490: Program and Event Planning students, and to
fundraise for two $1000 scholarships awarded to two RSM students.

The RSM Golf Classic is aimed at CCU RSM majors, CCU alumni, and recreation and sport
management professionals. The goal of the event is for CCU recreation and sport management
majors to gain experience in several aspects of event planning, raising awareness for the RSM
program, and also to raise money for a scholarship for a student within the program. This event
is planned and run by the RSM 490 Program and Event Planning students.

For the RSM 490 Program and Event Planning class, our mission is to create an environment for
experiential learning through the planning of a golf tournament. This event also benefits two
scholarship winners from within the department. We hope that the local community, CCU
students and alumni, and recreation and sport management professionals will come out to
support our 13th annual RSM Golf Classic, and our two RSM scholarship winners!
