INTRODUCTION

Encinas de Arriba is a municipality and Spanish town in the province of Salamanca, in the autonomous community
of Castilla y León. It belongs to the Santa Teresa Reservoir.

Its municipal area is made up of a single population center, it occupies a total area of 8.78 km² and according to the
demographic data collected in the 2017 municipal register, it has a population of 241 inhabitants.

It has two industries that employ people from the town. They are: LA ENCINA sausage meats and PISZOLLA fish
farm.

Most people are dedicated to agriculture and livestock and many people also have a family garden for their own
consumption.

PLACES TO VISIT
The only places to visit in Encinas de Arriba are the church built many years ago and which is preserved in very
good shape and the town hall.

FESTIVITIES
In Encinas de Arriba there are two festivals: at the end of December the corpus festivals that last more or less four
days and at the beginning of June the festivals in honor of San Esteban. Different activities were carried out: among
them orchestras, discos, meals and the activity The main thing is the climb up the mountain to get thyme and then
they go through the town.

Another important festivity is the boat ride down the Tormes River, in which the people of the town who want to
make a representation of an object or thing and put it on a floating cork base and travel down the Tormes River.

SCHOOL
In Encinas above there is a school with a very small number of students due to its low population, where children

go from early childhood education at the age of three to their training in 6th grade. The school is called CRA LOPE

DE VEGA.
SPORT VENUES
In Encinas de Arriba there are several sports venues. A pavilion used to play fronton and indoor soccer and also

used for a non-sporting purpose which is to play games at parties, discos, meals,... There are also two soccer fields

grass, one located in the center of town and another located. There are also exercise machines for older people.
