How To Make Candy Apples

Making candy apples is my favorite thing to do, especially with my grandmother. She’s actually
the one who taught me how to make delicious candy apples and ever since the first time she
taught me how to make them, I’ve never made them without her. Candy apples are a delicious
treat that you can either buy from the store, or even at the fair but of course, the fair isn’t going to
be here forever. So, this is a simple guide that you can use to make them yourself in the comfort
of your home or even for the ones you love.

Ingredients that are needed:

 10 Red Apples
 Candy apple mix; (There’s servals kinds of candy apple mix such as caramel, blue
raspberry, tradition red, or you can make your own candy mix. It’s all up to you!)
 Water
 Sugar
 10 Popsicle Sticks
 A pot
 A pan
 Parchment paper

Instructions:
Step 1: Wash your hands thoroughly. (It’s very important to wash your hands before handling
any kind of food, that way you won’t spread germs around the kitchen or on to other foods.)

Step 2: Wash your apples thoroughly under warm water. Washing produce such as apples (Helps
remove any dirt or bacteria that is present).
Step 3: Insert the popsicle sticks into the top of the apples, then sit them to the side on a clean
countertop, or on a clean paper towel(s). You will set them to the side so you can space for the
next steps.
Step 4: Start mixing the candy mix, water, and sugar together in the pot. This will make either a
red color or any color that you pick for your candy mix. Be sure to be careful and not make a
mess.

Step 5: Heat the candy mix, water, and sugar at medium temperature until it starts to boil. Once it
starts boiling the candy will become hard when its dry. Be careful and try not to burn yourself.

Step 6: Once the candy mix becomes hard, you will now turn the stove temperature to low. Make
sure that the temperature is on “low” or “very low”.

Step 7: Slowing start dipping your apples into the candy mix and place them on the pan with
parchment paper. Be sure to space out each apple on the parchment paper.

Step 8: Let the apples cool until you see that the candy is shining on the apples.

Step 9: (Optional) You could cut them into slices, if you prefer a less messier eating method.

Step 10: Enjoy your delicious candy apples!

Helpful Tip: Makes sure you are being very careful when heating your candy mix so you won’t
burn yourself and after you’re done, clean up after yourself!
