Porcupines win Friday meet

The track and field regular season is winding down.
Friday at the Whitewater Invite on the Penguins track
the Nashua Porcupines won the boys championship.
Nashua ran away with the title by 40 points with 105.33
with Hinsdale following with 65, Saco had 63, Dodson
52, Lustre Christian 48.33, Frazer 38, Turner 31.33, Box
Elder 31, Whitewater 24 and Hays Lodgepole 1.
Seniors Damon Adkins, Caden Laumeyer and
junior EvRhet Pugh were the onlying winners for the
Porcupines. Adkins won the javelin with a PR throw of
147-feet, 4-inches. Laumeyer also had a PR of 124-feet,
9-inches to win the discus. Pugh won the triple jump,
sailing 37-feet, 9.50-inches. Laumeyer was also second
in the shot put with a 38-0 1, Adkins was second in the
discus with a PR of 107-01. Pugh took second in the
long jump, going 17-04.50. Charlie Kaasa ran a 12:15.53
for second in the 3200 and was fifth in the 1600 with a
time of 5:53.67. Jackson Abern took second in the 300
hurdles with a 55.94. Noah Leckie was fourth with a PR
of 1:02.19. The Porcupines 4X100 relay team of Adkins,
Laumeyer, Grady Nielsen, and Leckie with a 53.39.
Adkins, Kaasa, Pugh, and Abern ran 4:40.09 for second
in the 4X400 relay. Leckie had a PR of 92-feet, 06-inches
for fifth in the discus and a PR of 7-feet for fifth in
the pole vault. Abern tied with Kade Strommen from
Hinsdale in the long jump for fourth with 16-06.50 and
was fourth in the triple jump, going 35-09.50.
Pugh, Trent Billmayer of Turner, and Clay Reddig of
Lustre Christian tied for sixth in the high Jump, all
clearing the bar at 5-02. Pugh and Reddig had PRs.
For the Raiders Bowman was second in the 200,
running a 28.36 and second in the javelin at a PR of 132-
11. Bowman and Strommen tied for fourth in the high
jump at 5-04. Bowman went a PR of 35-09 for fifth in
the triple jump. Jaydeen Hanshew ran a 13.43 for third
in the 100, third in the discus with a PR of 105-09 and
fifth in the javelin at a PR of 116-11. Linden Holt ran
a 15:23.57 for fourth in the 3200. He was third in the
300 hurdles with a 1:00.42. Strommen was second in the
pole vault with a PR of 11-feet.
Blaine Downing led Saco, winning the pole vault
at 13-feet, 6-inches. He was second in the 100, running
a 12.18, had a PR of 37-01 for third in the shot and
second in the high jump at a PR of 5-10. Jake Brown
ran a 1:02.29 for second in the 400. He also took fourth
in the 200 with a 28.7 and third in the javelin at 122-09.
Laytin Erickson was third in the high jump at a PR of
5-06, third in the pole vault at a PR of 10-feet and sixth
in the triple jump at 34-05.50.
Lustre Christian sent some to Whitewater and
others to the Glendive. Placing in Whitewater were Cam
Reddig,winning the 300 hurdles in a PR time of 50.77.
He was second in the triple jump, going 37-11.7. Clay
Reddig won the 800, running a PR of 2:27.14. Cayden
Klatt finished sixth in the 100, running a 13.86. Joseph
Lee was fifth in the 200 with a 29.12. The Lions 4X400
relay team of Hadden Olfert, Clay Reddig Lee, and Klatt
ran a 4:26.84 for a win.
Olfert was sixth in the discus, going 89-04 for a PR.
At the Glendive Shriners Invite the Lions were fifth
with a 38. Terran Joseph had a PR of 11.25 for second in
the 100, was third in the 200 with a PR of 22.90. Prestyn
Klatt fifth in the 3200 with an 11:17.70. Johnslee Pierre
won the 300 hurdles with a 42.2r4 and ran a 17.17 for
fourth in the 110 hurdles and third third in the long
jump at 20-07.50. The 4X100 relay team of Brian
Guedes, Pierre, .Byron Ewing, and Joseph ran a 46.03
for fifth.
Gabe and Joseph Beston each had a win for Frazer.
Gabe ran a 12:01.07 for a win in the 3200 and ran a PR
of 5.25.12 for second in the 1600. Joseph had a PR of
39-05 to win the shot. Travis Long was sixth in the 200
with a 30.28 and fourth in the 400 with 1:09.99.
For the host Penguins, Tyler Scheffelmearf ran
a PR of 27.55 to win the 200. Korbyn Skubinna took
second in the 400, running a 1:08.28. Ty Fourstar took
fourth in the javelin, going 119-11 and sixth in the long
jump at 16-06.

Upon arriving home, a husband was met at the
door by his sobbing wife. Tearfully she explained, “It’s
the pharmacist. He insulted me terribly this morning
on the phone. I had to call multiple times before he
would even answer the phone.”
Immediately, the husband drove downtown to
confront the chemist, and demand an apology.
Before he could say more than a word or two, the
chemist told him, “Now, just a minute, listen to my side
of it. This morning the alarm failed to go off, so I was
late getting up.
“I went without breakfast and hurried out to the
car, just to realise that I’d locked the house with both
house and car keys inside and had to break a window to
get my keys.
“Then, driving a little too fast, I got a speeding
ticket. Later, when I was about three blocks from the
store, I had a flat tire.
“When I finally got to the store a bunch of people
were waiting for me to open up. I got the store opened
and started waiting on these people, all the time the
darn phone was ringing.”
He continued, “Then I had to break a roll of 10 cent
coins against the cash register drawer to make change,
and they spilled all over the floor. I had to get down on
my hands and knees to pick up the coins and the phone
was still ringing.
“When I came up I cracked my head on the open
cash drawer, which made me stagger back against a
showcase with a bunch of perfume bottles on it. Half of
them hit the floor and broke.
“Meanwhile, the phone is still ringing with no let
up, and I finally got back to answer it. It was your wife.
She wanted to know how to use a rectal thermometer.
“And believe me mister, as God is my witness, all I
did was tell her!”

Regarding Fort Peck
Water District Board Election:
The Notice that ran in the April 23 and April 24
Buzz submitted by the Fort Peck Rural County Water
District is another example of why Mary Kaercher and
I are running for positions on the Board. We oppose
Board practices that are NOT transparent and contrary
to Montana law.
Although this Noticed/Ad is purportedly from the
Board — for the purpose of providing “relevant facts and
evidence” related to “two candidate statements” (from
people running against incumbent Board members) that
were “distributed” — there was no meeting of the Board
of Directors publicly reviewing its content or authorizing
its publication and expenditure of public funds.
Will the Water District’s Office Manager be expected
to “provide” campaign rebuttal information on the
Board’s behalf — i.e. on behalf of the incumbents?

or permit the use of public time, facilities, equipment,
state, letterhead, supplies, personnel, or funds to solicit ...
opposition to any election of any person to public office.”
