SURVIVAL COOKING

MECHANICS
1. Each tribe participating in the challenge is allowed to purchase their own ingredients and
materials/equipment before the challenge begins.
2. The challenge will have a time limit of 30 minutes for the tribes to prepare and cook their dish.
3. Tribes must work together effectively to plan, delegate tasks, cook, and serve the dish to the
judges within the time frame.
4. All necessary cooking utensils, tools, and equipment must be provided by the tribes
themselves.
5. The challenge may take place outdoors to simulate a survival cooking scenario.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

Taste: The flavour profile, seasoning, and overall taste of the dish will be evaluated by the
judges.
Creativity: The originality and innovative use of ingredients and cooking techniques will be
considered.
Presentation: The visual appeal, garnishing, and plating of the dish will factor into the overall
score.
Teamwork: The ability of the tribe members to work together, communicate effectively, and
delegate tasks will be assessed.
Resourcefulness: The efficient use of ingredients, equipment, and time management skills will be
crucial.
Adherence to Time Limit: Tribes must complete the cooking process and serve the dish to the
judges within the 30-minute time limit to avoid penalties.
