PETA Proposal

Subject/s: Statistics and Probability

Quarter/Period: Midterm
Grade: 11
Objectives: This project will be able to:
 Evaluate students’ grasp of fundamental statistical
concepts such as random variables, mean, variance, and
standard deviation.
 Measure students’ ability to effectively articulate statistical
concepts to an audience within a concise presentation
timeframe.
 Encourage students to apply statistical principles to
practical scenarios, showcasing their capacity to analyze
data and resolve issues using appropriate statistical
methodologies.
Output/s: PowerPoint Presentation for Statistics & Probability
Contributor/s: By 3’s
Situation:  In a statistics class, students are divided into groups, and
each group is assigned a specific statistical concept to
teach to the class. Each group selects a topic such as
random variables, mean calculation, variance, or discrete
and continuous random variables. They collaborate to
create a concise PowerPoint presentation to explain the
topic within a 2–3-minute time frame. During the
presentations, each group takes turns acting as the teacher,
sharing their knowledge with their classmates. This activity
promotes teamwork, encourages active participation, and
allows students to develop their presentation and teaching
skills while reinforcing their understanding of statistical
concepts.
Instructions/ Procedures:  Each group selects one of the six (6) topics.
 Prepare a PowerPoint presentation consisting of
example/s. (Follow the format below)
 Limit presentation time 2-3 minutes per group.
 In presenting your output, the teacher will call random
students from the group to present.

Criteria/Rubric: (Sample Criteria Guide Questions Points
