Kindergarten End of the
Year Celebration
Mark your calendars for
Thursday, May 30th. The
celebration will begin at 2:10. Please arrive
at least 10 minutes before the start of the
celebration. Our class will be celebrating with
Miss Wilt’s and Miss Citrone’s classes. Due to
limited space, each kindergarten student will be
able to invite two adults (per household) to this
special event. The presentation will include
kindergarten students singing. You are also
invited to take your child home for the evening
after the event. I hope to see you there. An
invitation has been sent home for you to sign
up who will be attending.
Monthly Homework
I can’t believe that we are approaching the end
of the school year. It is time for our last
monthly homework sheet. Thank you for
encouraging your child to complete his or her
monthly homework each month. May
homework sheets are due by May 31st.

Since this is my last newsletter, I
wanted to say…thanks for a
fabulous year! Everyone has been
great to work with! I REALLY enjoy
working with your children each
day! It has been a wonderful year!
Some Things We Will Be Working on
This Month
Language Arts - We will be reading stories and
doing literacy activities with plants, insects,
and summer themes. We will also do an
author study of Eric Carle.
Math – number writing and recognition to 30,
calendar skills, graphing, 1:1 matching, addition and
subtraction, time, fractions and counting by 1’s, 5’s
and 10’s. Note – students need to understand
addition and subtraction and may use
manipulatives; however, we are also focusing on
moving away from the manipulatives to retrieving
the answer quickly from memory.
Social Sciences – living vs. non-living, insects
– including caterpillar/butterfly observation and
ladybug observation, life cycles, Memorial Day, and
summer safety

Day! – wear clothing to show something that
you are a fan of

Bright Today – wear bright colors and show
happiness to others
 May 24th – ½ day for students - LSE Spirit
Dress Day: Dress Like Our Flag – wear
red, white, and blue
 May 27th – School Closed – Memorial Day
 May 28th – LSE Spirit Dress Day: Flip Into
Summer Vibe – wear your coolest
sunglasses, tropical shirts, and maybe even
flip flops
