Job card for EMTs in emergency medicine department

1. Taking vitals and documentation

2. Cervical collar application and helmet removal if needed
3. Spine board application if needed
4. Checking oxygen flowmeter and applying oxygen masks to patients
5. Connecting spo2 monitor, BP cuff and ECG electrodes
6. Control of external bleeding
7. Applying splints
8. Checking intubation equipment- laryngoscopes, ET tubes, Ambu bag, Bougie, OPA, NPA
suction catheter, suction pressure and apparatus
9. Assisting the doctor during intubation and providing MILS if required.
10. Connecting the patient to the ventilator and assisting with its settings
11. Taking 12 lead ECG
12. ABG machine calibration
13. Assisting patient to the CT room with monitoring of vitals and documentation
14. Checking of oxygen cylinders and assembling them for patient shifting
15. Assisting in plaster application
16. Shifting patients in yellow area and guiding patients
17. Taking care of USG probes and machine functioning with documentation
18. Assisting in handling defibrillation machine and AED
19. Assisting the resuscitation team during code blue
20. Checking the crash cart drugs and helping in administering drugs during CPR
21. Cleaning and replacing of used medical equipments
22. Assisting in procedures such as applying sutures, ICD placement, wound dressing, foleys
insertion, central line insertion, arterial line setup, nerve blocks, bronchoscopy etc.
23. Checking the functioning of monitors and their probes and leads and documenting of any
faulty equipment and replacing them.
