Agenda:
Ericsson
Seminar

Today, we attended the Ericsson seminar, which

discusses virtual reality and its possible effect on

the teaching and learning process. We have also

experienced trying virtual reality technologies,

which is my first time, as a pre-service teacher, it

is very difficult to understand, but it is also

exciting to experience. I think it is not impossible

to maximize its use in the classrooms in the future,

but for now, I do not think so as these kinds of
technologies are quite complicated and pricey for the
teaching and learning process that instead of aiding
and making it easy might give hindrances and
difficulties for both teachers and learners. However,
as a pre-service teacher, it is a great opportunity for
me to experience and be aware of the current
researchers and what we might expect with the more
complicated use and integration of ICT inside the
class.

General
Orientation

Today, we had a general orientation for our

Practice Teaching that was held online, and due to
the number of practice teachers, we needed to
attend, either via Zoom or on Facebook Live. And
there, Dr. Victoria Delos Santos explained what to
expect from the different schools that we might be
deployed to. She also presented different partner
schools of PNU for the practice-teaching program,
and we are amazed that it is possible to have a
practice teaching overseas.

Dra. Delos Santos also addressed and answered the

concerns about the process, the schools that they

want to but don't have any Memorandum of Agreement

yet, as well as the concern about the Balik-Home-

Town. It was very informative and helpful for us as

practice teachers to be prepared little by little as

Practice Teaching is coming.

Agenda:
Day 1 Face to
Face Patnuro

Today, me and my co-practice teachers have attended

the face-to-face patnuro held at the PNU Main
Building Auditorium. However, due to the number of
practice teachers, some attended through Zoom, in
which we learned a lot about what we should expect
as a practice teacher in public high schools. The
grading system for practice teachers was also
discussed by the supervisors and the requirements
we needed to submit for the course. The speaker
also talked about how we can effectively implement
a CBAR and create a write-up for it.

PRACTICE TEACHING

It was a day full of learning, a lot of concerns

and questions about practice teaching were
discussed and addressed, which gave us
clarifications for our confusion. This
clarification also aids us to be at ease amidst
our anxiousness and nervousness as the practice
teaching will come soon.

Agenda:

Patnuro Hybrid
(Online)

Today, I attended the second day of Patnuro, which

we attended through Zoom, while the participants on
the first day who attended online are now attending
face-to-face. There are a lot of lessons that I
have gained from this event, especially from the
speaker, who is the previous school principal of
Victorino Mapa High School, he discussed what are
the expectations of the school where we will deploy
practice teachers like us.

Also, questions and concerns were addressed today
for us to be clear and reminded of our duties and
responsibilities as practice teachers. It is indeed
meaningful and helpful for not just me, but us as
practice teachers to know what to expect and what to
do when we deploy to the schools specified for us.

Classes

Early in the morning, I received a chat from our group

chat from the assigned professor who will deploy us
that we have to go to the Victorino Mapa High School.
After reading that, even though the time wasn't
mentioned yet, I already prepared myself as fast as I
could as it was too far from our home. After some
time, Sir Ed showed up and went with us to the
Principal's office, and there he endorsed and
introduced us to the department head of Math and ESP.
We waited for some time as they also had a meeting,
and Dr. Viar toured us a little on the school
premises.

After that, we went to the ESP faculty where we met
our CTs. There, Dr. Viar assigned us to our
respective CTs. I was assigned to Ma’am Cacatian,
and after that, we talked to know more about each
other. I found out that she is also a PNUan Values
Education major. I had goosebumps upon hearing her
stories because based on our previous research and
experience, there are really few Values Education
majors who pursue teaching ESP. She also shared
about her beautiful family, especially her adorable
kids.

She is also now taking her master’s degree still in

PNU and still in VE. I was amazed by her dedication.
Minutes later, we went to the 10-8, which was her
last class, there she introduced me to the class, and
I appreciated how she reminded the learners that they
should respect me the way they respect their teacher
because I will be a teacher soon and I am not a
learner. She also told them the reason why I took my
first choice my VE, which was loved by the class, and
gave me a round of applause. I also met the 10-5,
which is the advisory class after their meeting.

before becoming
busy

It is the most awaited day for me however, the night

before, I was hesitant to attend because of the
problem with the uniform as there were a lot of times
I went back and forth from our home in Navotas to ITL
just to ask the tailor if my uniform has been
repaired, however, every time I go there, the answer
is no. Thankfully, by God’s grace, on the same day, my
uniform was one of the many uniforms delivered. I
didn’t iron it because I had no time to go back home.
In the morning we started to have some run of
rehearsals with all the attendees.

At lunchtime, we had our lunch and proceeded to
prepare ourselves with my friends in the comfort
room, and then, we took photos in the corridors, the
three of us did not have any companions that would
be attending because of the distance from our home
to our school. Then the Pinning Ceremony started, I
felt nervous and excited at the same time, not just
during the ceremony itself, but also the days after
as we were already deployed.

The talk of the speakers is indeed inspirational,

especially for me. It reminds me even though we are
afraid of doing and facing something unfamiliar, we
still need to face and do it scared, especially if we
know that it will be beneficial for us and our
development. We ended this ceremony with a photo
opportunity and celebrated it by eating out with my
closest friends.

Indeed, PT, now we go!
