Terms of Reference

Great Sea Reef Programme Intern

Project: Bezos Project; FJ207100 Act

11th March, 2024

Supervised by: GSR Program Manager & CRRI Manager (internally)

Work location: WWF Fiji Office – 4 Maafu St.

Duration: 70 days

1. Background

The Intern will be responsible for supporting the Great Sea Reef team in various administrative
and research tasks, particularly in liaison with government partners, conducting desktop
research, translating documents, reviewing community plans, and assisting in administrative
tasks as required

2. Objectives of the Internship

The purpose of this internship to provide support to the GSR team in managing the activities of
data collation, gathering and analysis to some extent and assisting as well on in administrative
duties related to multiple projects that the unit is currently involved with, particularly the Green
Climate Fund related WWF programme on the Coral Reef Resilience Project supported by the
Bezos Mangroves for Climate and Community Project.

This arrangement is ideal and necessary as over the next few months there are multiple number
of Consultancies as well that will require extra support from the WWF Fiji Team.

Build up the capacity of the Individual as well as open up a pathway of internships from the
WWF Volunteer Program

3. Scope of work and methodology:

 Develop briefs, presentations, and reports as needed by the Supervisors.


 Circulate memorandums, letters of invitation/support, and consultation requests;
 Assist in administrative roles within/and for the GSR program team;
 Attend meetings (albeit in official capacity);
 Carry out any other tasks assigned by GSR Program Manager.
 Attend meetings and workshops related to the GCF project and follow up of internal
action
 Desktop Information and Research
 Assist in organizing and coordinating GCF project initiatives;
 Collaborate with stakeholders and partners involved in GCF and mangrove conservation
initiatives;
 Provide administrative support for GCF project documentation and reporting;

4. Deliverables/expected outputs

Weekly updates submitted to Supervisors with specific actions relating to the WWF GCF
CRRI Proposal Development and other WWF related actions.

5. Required profile

Expertise/knowledge & Experience Required

This work will be undertaken by an individual:


1. Who is familiar with how WWF Fiji and Great Sea Reef Programme and how it operates as
well as familiar with WWF’s Green Climate Fund work.
2. Who has some basic knowledge and understanding of the core functions of administrative
work and will be able to facilitate actions internally to help support the partners and the
teams across the workplan of the GCF Proposal Submission.
3. Has the following skillset to facilitate functions of the TOR:
a. Strong assessment and analytical skills
b. A clear, organized and practical approach in carrying out work
c. Excellent written and spoken communication skills
d. Dynamic team player and ability to network

6. Application
