Title: Falcons Pull Away Last Minute, Take Game One From Hood

By: Jessica Fannin

(Grantham, PA) --- It was a slow game as the Blazers had a 1-0 lead early on until the bottom of

the fifth inning when the Falcons tied 1-1 thanks to an RBI single from Kandice Schlabach. The

Falcons finished the game with a score of 2-1, when Alexa Burger hit a single, allowing Hannah

Dyer to achieve an RBI.

The game was scoreless at the beginning of the game, but there were some notable plays from

Dyer. In the top of the fifth inning, she made a great running grab at the wall, bringing the crowd

to life. In the bottom of the fifth, Dyer dropped down a bunt and made it to first but would not

make it to home plate.

Also in the bottom of the fifth inning, Schlabach had one of the biggest hits of the game,

allowing Paige Eakes to come home, tying the game at 1-1.

The score would remain the same for the sixth inning. In the top of the sixth inning, Burger

would get Jocelyn Pfleiger out with a swift catch.

The game wrapped up in an exciting finish when Burger hit a single into right field and brought

Dyer home from first. Burger distracted the shortstop, allowing Dyer to use her speed to make it

home.

Next Thursday they will face off against the Dickinson Red Devils at home with Go Messiah

coverage starting at 4:00 p.m.
