I. TITLE: SCHOOL – BASED YOUTH FOR ENVIRONMENT IN SCHOOLS

The five science teachers will donate voluntary amount in the pursuance of the
activities. No collection from students is strictly implemented. Also, in line with the
activities, donations has been of great help in the realization of our mission, goals and
objectives.

V. TARGET PARTICIPANTS:

The activities are open to all students (grade 7 to Senior High School) of Ramon
Torres Sagasa National High School.
VI. RATIONALE:

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1481, s. 2008 declaring April 22 of every


year as the Philippine’s Earth Day, the Department of Education (DepEd) reaffirms its
commitment to strengthening the makakalikasan value of learners and personnel, especially
in the light of climate change.

In this connection, Ramon Torres Sagasa National High School Youth for
Environment in Schools Organization supports the said proclamation in accordance with the
celebration of the Earth Day with a theme: “PINAsiglang Mundo (Restore the Earth).

As what the Earth Day celebration theme emphasizes, YES-O encourages learners to
uphold unity, perseverance and resiliency amidst pandemic. In this trying times, education
should not be limited to the most essential learning competencies (melcs), rather it should
maximize its efforts to mold learners into responsible citizen of this country and develop later
on a sustainable society with people equipped with the four core values of DepEd:
Makakalikasan, Makatao, Maka-Diyos and Makabansa.

This year’s edition of YES-O highlights and strengthens our goal and commitment to
create and develop environmental awareness, love of nature and inculcate to each and
everyone, especially to our learners, environmental stewardship and ecological solidarity in
order to create a sustainable future and a better community.

VII. OBJECTIVES:

A. General
To instill environmental values in every student and to be involved in School –
Based Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) activities.

B. Specific:
 To be able to plant at least 5 trees per student every year.
 To be able to help save the ecosystem and habitat of animals.
 To be able to throw seedlings anywhere they go.
 To be able to reduce the amount of plastics in the community of Barangay Sagasa and
nearby barangays by converting it to eco-bricks.
 To be able to make use of garbage that do not decompose.
 To be able to create gulayan/vegetable garden in their backyards,
 To be able to clean our environment with the observation of proper waste segregation
both at home and in school; to be able to conduct clean-up drive in each purok via
YES-O purok facilitators as governed by YES-O Officers 2020-2021.
 To be able to follow up the initial effort of saving the creek side/riverside by planting
trees and clean-up drive.
 To be able to raise the awareness of students and the community about the problems
and importance of the environment.

VIII. METHODOLOGY

Since the environment is everyone ‘s concern, the participants are and not
limited to YES-O officers, facilitators and members, all science teachers and the whole
Ramon Torres Sagasa National High School community with the cooperation of Supreme
Student Government (SSG), Boy Scout of the Philippines – RTSNHS and the Local
Government Unit of Barngay Sagasa.

All activities of the YES-O is done per purok in order to encourage NO MOVEMENT
among participants. This is in line with the recommended standard health protocols suggested
by the IATF.

Facebook page and YES-O group chat has been created to track progress among these
activities. Information should start from the YES-O coordinator towards YES-O teachers to
be laid down to YES-O officers. The officers then will channel down the information to
Purok facilitators. This has been done to create proper channeling of instructions and
information in order to foster an easy and faster way of communication among members
since no face-to-face interaction is being highlighted.

standard health protocols suggested by IATF. The activities will be tracked virtually by Year-Level Facilitators
and YES-O Officers with the guidance of YES-O coordinators and science Teachers.

Attach herewith is the action plan and project proposal of YES-O. Any help from the Local Government Unit of
Barangay Sagasa will be highly appreciated.

We are hoping for your consideration and support for our project in extending help to our community in this

ginapangayu ang inyo hamili nga pag-intyendi kag pag-ugyon paagi sa pagpasugot sang nagakaigu nga
partisipasyon sang inyo mga kabataan nga nagabuylog sa sini nga proyekto.

Ang mga aktibidadis sang mga bata pagahimuon lang sa inyu lugar kag wala sang aktibidadis nga pagahimuon
nga naga require sa ila nga magwa sa tagsa nil aka purok. Ini agud aton man ma preserbar ang safety sang aton
mga kabataan.

Ini nga programa nagapakita nga maski sa tunga sang pandemya, kita may mabulig sa aton komunidad kag sa
