Issue 2016—President Obama 2019—President Trump

The Economy Collage has to be affordable for all Americans. The thing that
0:14 (2016) causes the financial crisis was their recklessness on Wall
0:05 (2019) Street, not the Food Stamp recipients.
He wants to focus the economy in which there is a financial
crisis, but he has to make college affordable for every
American.
Foreign Policy It is not a choice of ignoring the rest of the world in the
1:37 (2016) American leadership. Except when we kill terrorist or
2:11 (2019) occupying and rebuilding things. Leadership means a good
application of military power, and lead the world to good
causes. Twisted souls put in enormous danger to civilians; it
has to be stopped.
The U.S.M.C.A will replace NAFTA and deliver for
American workers. The only thing that can stop the
economy miracle in the US are: flourish wars, politics or
ridiculous partisan investigations.
Trump wants that economy goes in function of if they
are with the support of allies like Mexico and Canada, he
also base the economy with illusions because miracles
are not real.
Great nations do not fight endless wars. We would be
right now in a major war with North Korea. Just two years
ago, ISIS controlled more than 20,000 square miles in Iraq
and Syria. Today it has been liberated virtually all the
territory of these bloodthirsty monsters. The allies would
destroy the remnants of ISIS, it’s time to give a warm
welcome home to the warriors from Syria.

Both are based in war and in destroying ISIS. The

contrast is that Trump only talks of war and Obama talks
of more things like leadership.
Choose ONE State of the Union address and pick ONE other area on which to comment.

Any politics that is against different races or religions must be

rejected. Because if not this could be a problem for new goals of
the country. When politicians insult Muslims, whether abroad our
fellow citizens, when a mosque is vandalized, or a kid is called
names, that doesn’t make us safer. That is not telling it like it is.
It’s just wrong. It diminishes us in the eyes of the world and makes
it harder to achieve our goals. It betrays who we are as a country.

Final Thoughts

Presidents often use the State of the Union address to send message of unity between the political parties and among the
American people. Which address do you think had a stronger message of unity? Explain your opinion in 3-5 sentences and use
specific examples to support your ideas.
In my opinion, the address that had the most unity message was Obama’s speech, because he talks more about caring for the
whole population, not like Trump.
In addition, his posture and tone of voice also help, as when Trump was giving his speech, he had a preponderant tone of voice
and always with his head facing up and his hands always on the lectern, while Obama always he used his hands to support his
speech.
Another reason is that Obama is more concerned with the future of the country and innovations, but Trump is only talking about
things that should be obvious in the 21st century. That is why Obama's speech has a more unifying message.
