What is e-PG Pathshala ?

E-PG Pathshala is an open courseware initiative of the UGC INFLIBNET Centre


that started as an MHRD project, titled "National Mission on Education by Way of ICT"
(NME-ICT) in India. The e-PG Pathshala project provided 25169 e-content modules in
different subjects.

Introduction

-e- PG Pathshala is one portal under which High quality, curriculum based, interactive
content in different subjects across all disciplines of social sciences, arts, fine arts &
humanities, natural & mathematical sciences, linguistics and languages.

-Are being developed by MHRD under its NME- ICT(National Mission on Education
through ICT).

-It has assigned work to the UGC for development of e- content in more than 68 subjects
at Postgraduate level.

-The content and its quality is the key component of the system.

Salient features of e-PG-Pathshala

-Curriculum based, Interactive e-content of 22000+ modules in more than 70 subjects of


various disciplines.

-e-contents have been developed by the Subject Experts working in Indian Universities
and other R & D institutes across the country.

-Every subject had a team of Principal Investigator, Paper Coordinators, Content Writers,
Content reviewers, Language Editors and Multimedia team.

e-Content of Each Module would Comprise of 4 Quadrants

Quardrant 1 is e-text which comprises of textual document, PDF/ e-Books / illustration,


video demonstrations/ documents & interactive simulations wherever required.

Quadrant 2 is e-tutorial Video and Audio Content in an organized form, Animation,


Simulations, Virtual Labs.

Quadrant 3 is web resources comprising Related Links, Wikipedia Development of


Course, Open Content on Internet, Case Studies, Anecdotal information, Historical
development of the subject, Articles.
Quadrant 4 is self-assessment which has MCQ, Problems, Quizzes, Assignments &
solutions, Online feedback through discussion forums & setting up the FAQ,
Clarifications on general misconceptions

How can Students and Teachers benefit from e-PG Pathshala ?

The students and teachers can use this e-content as an Open Educational Resource (OER)
or as resource material in a Flipped Classroom model where, in contrast to the
conventional classroom teaching, the students watch the video lecture/study material at
home and classroom is used for discussions and critical thinking including
discussion/problem solving and assignments with the help of teachers and peers.

Who can submit proposals for e-content development?

Any PG teacher, engaged in teaching in an institution recognized by the UGC, for at least
10 Years in Particular discipline.

Any educational institution in the country impacting higher education, who agree with
the aims and objectives of the NME-ICT/UGC.

Any agency/institution / individual through invitation of NME-ICT/UGC

• It is a platform to provide 700+ e-books for the Post Graduate courses.
