Compound Nouns

COMPOUND NOUNS
(Two words together that form a different word or noun)

An example of Compound Nouns is the Indefinite Pronouns:

PEOPLE THINGS PLACES
Someone/somebody Something Somewhere
Anyone/anybody Anything Anywhere
Everybody / Everyone Everything everywhere

Sometimes the meaning of each word can help us identify or at least give us a clue
about the concept of the new word like:
Door + bell = doorbell sun + shine = sunshine sun+glasses=sunglasses

sun + block = sunblock bed + room = bedroom head + ache = headache

back + ache = backache back + pack = backpack Tooth+brush= toothbrush

Girl+friend=girlfriend Work+book=workbook Rain+coat=raincoat

Dish+washer=dishwasher Fire+fighter= firefighter Sea+food= seafood

On the other hand, sometimes the meaning of each word is totally different from
the new word:

Hot+dog= hotdog
