Sports injuries are too many, they split into 2 types of injuries:
Acute injuries, which happen suddenly.

Chronic injuries, which are usually related to overuse and develop gradually over time.

some of them happen on the upper limb as a:(Rotator cuff injury, Instability, Golfer’s elbow
and Ulnar collateral ligament injury).

And some of them happens on the lower limb as a: (Runner’s knee, Dislocation, Tendon
tear, Hamstring strain, Ankle sprain)

Cause of Sports Injuries

The cause of an acute sports injury is a force of impact that is greater than the body part can
withstand, while a chronic injury is typically due to repeating the same motion over and over
again. Sometimes, overuse injuries can degrade tissues and joints and set the stage for an acute
injury.

Definition:
A fractures of the lower limp: Lower extremity fractures are breaks or cracks in the bones of
the lower limbs, including the hip, femur, tibia, fibula, and bones of the foot. These fractures
can result from various causes such as trauma, falls, sports injuries, or underlying medical
conditions like osteoporosis.

A sprain: is an injury to the ligaments and capsule of a joint in the body.

A strain: is an injury to muscles or tendons.

Causes:
Some Fractures causes:
• Fall from a height.
• Trauma.
• Motor vehicle accidents.
• Direct blow.
• Child abuse.
• Repetitive forces, such as those caused by running, can cause stress fractures of the foot,
ankle, tibia, or hip.

2
A sprain occurs when you overextend or tear a ligament while severely stressing a joint.

A strain is when a muscle is stretched too much and part of it tears. It is also called a pulled
muscle. A strain is a painful injury. It can be caused by an accident, overusing a muscle, or
using a muscle in the wrong way.

Mechanism:
A fractures: Transverse shaft fractures typically result from a direct blow to the bone. Spiral
fractures are the result of rotational forces. A comminuted fracture suggests the mechanism
had a very high energy impact. Concomitant fibula fracture in up to 60% of cases.

A sprain: The most common mechanism of injury in lateral ankle sprains occurs with forced
plantar flexion and inversion of the ankleas the body's center of gravity rolls over the ankle.

Strain: Muscle strains also commonly occur when a muscle changes rapidly from active
shortening (concentric motion) to active lengthening (eccentric motion). This mechanism is
seen more often in non-impact sports or during physical activities of daily life.

Management:
Fractures: Early mobilization is paramount, as restricted weight bearing and immobility are
poorly tolerated and increase risk of complications. Surgical techniques may allow early
weight bearing after lower extremity fractures in the elderly population.

Sprain and strain:

First aid for sprains or strains
Rest the injured area. Put icepacks on the area for 20 minutes every 2 waking hours, separated
from the skin by wet towelling. Compress or bandage the injured site firmly, extending the
wrapping from below to above. Elevate (raise) the injured area above heart height whenever
practical.

What did i understand from this assignment?

1-that there’s more than one type of injuries
2-that is the strain and sprain happens when they got stretched more than normal
3-i have to deal with injuries as soon as possible
4-that i may got injured even in my daily life
5-injuries is too painful
