The numbers of "MAIN ENGINE CONTROL POSITION" and "IMO NOx mode" marked with "〇" means that control position and NOx mode.
(*) marked test number shall be carried out on the place of wharf with mooring condition.
(**) marked test number shall be carried out for the first "SS343" only.
(***) marked test number shall not be carried out, The test result of a sister vessel shall be submitted to the owner.
P-3
One of two main air reservoirs shall be filled up with compressed air of about 2.8 MPa
beforehand.
Main engine shall be started in the directions of ahead and astern alternately using the
compressed air in the reservoir, and the operation shall be continued until the main engine
can not be started.
The number of starts and the minimum possible starting pressure shall be recorded.
Capacity of each main air reservoir shall be sufficient to start the main engine minimum
6 times consecutively without replenishment.
a) Operation
This test shall be carried out to ascertain the minimum available revolution in the condition
that the main engine is controlled from engine control console at official sea trial moving
the rudder to port side and starboard side alternately by 35°.
b) Measurement
1. Main engine revolution
2. Other necessary data
This test shall not be carried out subject to the approval of the Classification Society.
The test result of a sister vessel "SC382" shall be submitted to the owner.
a) Operation
Main engine fuel oil consumption measurement shall be carried out during the progressive
speed trial at each load of the main engine.
Result of measurement for main engine fuel oil consumption during progressive speed trial
shall be submitted to the supervisor.
b) Measurement
1. Fuel oil consumption by flow meter
2. Main engine revolution
3. Fuel oil temperature
4. Other necessary data
The operation of changing fuel oil for the main engine shall be carried out to introduce
the procedure of changing fuel oil to ship's engineers.
The fuel oil for the main engine shall be changed from marine gas oil to very low sulfur
fuel oil and vice versa with manual.
Temperature of main engine crank-pin bearing, main bearing and cross head-pin bearing shall
be measured after ship running.
At least four (4) hours engine room unmanned test shall be carried out in accordance with
guidance for automatic and remote control system of chapter 2.2-5 (NK), and the main engine
and diesel generator engine shall run on marine gas oil at NOx TierⅢ (M.C.O.) during test.
Four (4) hours endurance trial test shall be carried out at the same time as engine room
unmanned test (M.C.O.), and the main engine and diesel generator engine shall be of marine
gas oil during the test subject to approval of the Classification Society.
(Refer to the E/R unmanned condition as the page 6 and 7.) (P.6-7)
This test shall be carried out during the ship running to confirm that the stand-by engine
start, run and voltage builds up automatically when running generator was in trouble.
The measurement shall be carried out during the main engine running at about C.S.O.. The
measurement of the generated fresh water quantity is measured for 30 minutes by the flow
meter.
This test shall be carried out to confirm that the safety valves work at design pressure
(0.70 MPa) and have enough capacity for maximum evaporation.
P-5
13. Auxiliary boiler exhaust gas side evaporation measurement (at C.S.O. NOx TierⅡ mode).
Auxiliary boiler exhaust gas side evaporation shall be measured during the progressive speed
trial, in the way of measuring the feed water quantity at the boiler inlet by the flow meter.
(This test shall be carried out for the first vessel “SS343” only for this series.)
As for this test, passage time of the critical speed range for main engine ahead and astern
are measured.
(Refer to the PASSAGE TIME MEASUREMENT TEST OF CRITICAL SPEED RANGE & FI FOR M/E as the
page 9.)
