Background: Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood
that is characterized by unstable behavior, difficulty controlling emotions, and time to grow and develop biologically, psychologically, and sociologically. Online games are a form of games that are linked via an internet network, games can be played using computers, laptops, mobile phones, and other devices. Sleep quality is a state of sleep experienced by one person which will result in a feeling of freshness and health after waking up. Anxiety that arises because of playing online games too often results in students being lazy in studying. Those who experience anxiety and are afraid to deal with it will prefer to take it out on other things such as playing online games. Objective: The study aimed at determining whether there was a relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality in adolescents who play online games at Kalialang Village, Wonosobo. Method: The study was quantitative research with a correlation method using a cross-sectional research design, involving 50 adolescents aged 10-20 years in Kalialang Village, Wonosobo. The sampling technique used was total sampling using a questionnaire sheet and data analysis was done through the Kendall Tau test. Results: The results of the study showed that the majority had moderate anxiety with 58% and the sleep quality was mostly poor with 82%. Conclusion and Suggestion: There was a relationship between anxiety and sleep quality in adolescents with a significance value of 0.000 which is less than 0.05. It is recommended to provide information to adolescents regarding anxiety and sleep quality. Adolescents should be able to minimize playing games excessively. For parents, they need to pay more attention to their children to see whether they often play online games. For future researchers, they can study other factors that influence anxiety, sleep quality, and respondents’ characteristics.
